Job Summary:

Supports legal team by providing legal and regulatory assistance for investigations, appeals, hearings, requests from external stakeholders, and general administrative responsibilities. Assists in preparing responses to congressional inquiries, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Requests for Information/Action (RFIs/RFAs), and external communication. Provides support to improve the efficiency of legal needs within the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews, quality checks, and finalizes documents for witnesses at administrative hearings.
• Reviews discovery requests and assigns appropriate staff for responses and collection of documents.
• Attends administrative hearings and provides written summary of proceedings.
• Drafts legal documents including responses to FOIA requests and payment suspension rebuttals.
• Assists in identification of responsive documents and document custodians for litigation hold/FOIA requests, coordinates collection of responsive documents, and maintains record of active requests.
• Attends meetings, maintains case files, and provides general administrative support to the legal team.
• Completes all required security, IT, and compliance training in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Assists with process improvements and efficiency efforts.

Plans and arranges own work; works with manager to prioritize projects

Education (can be substituted for experience):

Bachelor's Degree required

Experience (can be substituted for education):
2 - 4 years required; 5 - 7 years preferred

Certifications:

Paralegal certificate preferred
