Quality Assurance Engineer (Mobile Applications)

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer (Mobile Applications) to test and validate mobile banking and payments applications from the end user’s point of view. You will work in live production and pre-release environments, walking core customer journeys, validating new releases and customer-facing communications, reviewing localisation quality, and documenting what you find clearly enough for a team to act on it. This is a detail-driven, exploratory testing role rather than an automation one — no programming experience is required, but a sharp eye and disciplined reporting are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of core customer journeys in mobile banking and payments applications — onboarding, authentication, transfers, payments, card management, settings, alerts, and notifications.
• Evaluate usability, interface clarity, content quality, navigation, and design consistency from a genuine end-user perspective.
• Test newly released features, enhancements, and updates across production and pre-release builds on both iOS and Android.
• Validate customer-facing communications — push notifications, SMS, emails, and in-app messages — for accuracy, timing, tone, and clarity.
• Test error-handling and negative scenarios, including incorrect PIN entry, exceeded transaction limits, declined or failed transactions, connectivity loss, and other system-generated responses.
• Review localised content for translation accuracy, terminology consistency, truncation, and formatting issues across supported languages.
• Capture screenshots and screen recordings to evidence defects, translation errors, and interface inconsistencies.
• Write clear, concise defect reports with reproduction steps, expected versus actual behaviour, severity, and supporting evidence.
• Re-test and validate fixes following releases, and confirm that previously raised issues have been properly remediated.
• Maintain and execute test cases and checklists covering regression, release validation, and exploratory testing.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback and recommendations to product, design, and engineering teams, and flag customer experience risks early.
• Support ongoing quality validation and continuous improvement of the mobile experience across client engagements.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience: 3+ years in manual software testing, with substantial hands-on experience testing mobile applications.
• Strong practical testing skills — exploratory testing, test case design and execution, regression testing, and negative and edge-case scenarios.
• Hands-on testing experience across both iOS and Android devices, including different OS versions, screen sizes, and device conditions.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven ability to spot interface inconsistencies, content and translation errors, and subtle behavioural defects.
• Ability to assess digital experiences and customer journeys objectively from an end-user perspective.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills — clear, concise, reproducible defect reports and structured summaries of findings.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tooling (Jira, Xray, TestRail, Zephyr, or equivalent).
• Confident capturing screenshots, screen recordings, logs, and other evidence to support findings.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned activities to agreed timelines, and operate effectively in a remote, distributed team.
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken.
• No programming or software development experience is required for this role.

Engagement-Specific Requirements:

This engagement require testing within a specific national market . the the following additional criteria apply:

• Native-level proficiency in Greek, alongside professional English.
• Residency in Greece.
• Ability to open, hold, and actively use a local account within the application under test.
• Availability aligned to agreed testing and release schedules within the local time zone.
