We have an exciting opportunity for a Advisor Marketing Consultant!

The Advisor Marketing Consultant helps financial advisor teams grow by turning business goals into focused, actionable marketing strategies. This role serves as the primary strategic marketing partner for a portfolio of advisor teams across the Northeast region.

The consultant analyzes growth opportunities, recommends priorities, develops practical marketing plans, and influences advisors to take action. The role works closely with Practice Management, Advisor Marketing Specialists, and Corporate Marketing to coordinate support and maintain momentum from strategy through implementation. Success requires strong business judgment, confidence working with experienced advisors and senior leaders, comfort using data to make recommendations, and the ability to create accountability without direct authority.

This is a Remote position with some travel (4-6 times per year)

As this will be supporting our Northeast region it is strongly preferred that candidates are located in the EST or CST time zones.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 to $100,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions

Portfolio and Advisor Support

• Support a portfolio of financial advisor teams across the Northeast region.
• Team size, business maturity, growth opportunity, and marketing needs will vary.
• Engage advisor teams through a structured consulting approach, with meeting frequency and support aligned to business needs and firm expectations.
• Provide strategic marketing consultation to assigned advisor teams and establish clear expectations for agreed growth actions, ownership, and follow-through.
• Coordinate with Advisor Marketing Specialists and other functional partners when execution support is part of the advisor team’s approved plan.
• The consultant continues to own strategy, plan management, communication, and accountability.
  

Core Responsibilities

1. Advisor Growth Strategy and Planning

• Lead the development and ongoing management of annual marketing plans and budgets for assigned advisor teams, aligned with firm guidance, advisor growth goals, and regional priorities.
• Translate each plan into specific advisor commitments, client and prospect activities, timelines, owners, and measurable outcomes.
• Recommend how advisor teams should use available marketing budgets and monitor utilization throughout the year.
• The consultant may decline or redirect proposed spending that does not align with firm standards, strategy, or expected business value.
• Guide advisor teams in selecting the marketing programs, campaigns, tools, and service options best suited to their goals.
• Adjust recommendations when performance, adoption, or business conditions indicate the current approach is not working.
  

2. Advisor Consultation and Accountability

• Build trusted, influential relationships by understanding each advisor team’s growth goals, business priorities, market dynamics, and execution barriers.
• Lead structured, growth-focused conversations with a clear point of view.
• Challenge passive or ineffective approaches, recommend the strongest path forward, and gain commitment to practical next steps.
• Hold all assigned teams accountable for engaging in the marketing planning process and completing agreed actions.
• When advisor engagement or follow-through stalls, document the risk, raise it with Advisor Marketing leadership and Practice Management leadership, and support the agreed escalation and monitoring plan.
• Maintain clear communication with advisor teams regarding priorities, decisions, ownership, progress, and unresolved barriers.
  

3. Performance Analysis and Optimization

• Review regional and advisor-team performance using Salesforce, firm dashboards, and other approved reporting tools.
• Areas of focus include net flows, Advisor Channel Inflows, client acquisition, retention, referrals, advisor activity, and adoption of agreed marketing strategies.
• Use data to identify performance gaps, ask informed questions, uncover emerging opportunities, and recommend actions.
• Use Salesforce tools to review advisor and client information, create targeted lists, support campaign decisions, and improve follow-up.
• Monitor marketing-budget utilization and vendor effectiveness, identifying underuse, inefficiency, and opportunities to redirect resources toward higher-impact activity.
• Identify successful advisor practices, validate the behaviors and outcomes behind them, and translate proven approaches into reusable guidance.
  

4. Cross-Functional Partnership and Execution

• Co-own advisor accountability with Practice Management team.
• Align on growth priorities, advisor interventions, ownership, and escalation while retaining ownership of the marketing strategy and recommendations.
• Partner with Advisor Marketing Specialists when execution support is included in an advisor team’s approved plan.
• Establish clear roles, coordinated recommendations, and shared visibility into commitments and progress.
• Coordinate with Corporate Marketing and other functional partners to connect advisor needs with brand campaigns, digital tools, lead-generation programs, creative support, and web support.
• Partner with M&A marketing and onboarding teams when a newly joined advisor team enters the Northeast region.
• Support the transition into ongoing regional support, clarify growth priorities, and establish the initial marketing plan.
• Represent advisor marketing needs and regional growth opportunities in cross-functional forums.
• Bring data, advisor context, a recommendation, and clear decisions or dependencies.
  

5. Plan, Documentation, and Workflow Management

• Own meeting notes and documentation in designated firm systems, including decisions, commitments, owners, risks, and next steps.
• Own the accuracy and ongoing management of advisor marketing plans in designated firm systems.
• Coordinate communication and follow-up with advisor teams and internal partners, maintaining momentum without absorbing accountability that belongs to the advisor or another functional owner.
• Escalate unresolved barriers through the appropriate Advisor Marketing and Practice Management leadership channels.
  

6. Team Contribution, Communication, and Innovation

• Contribute to advisor marketing and Practice Management working sessions by owning the data, performance narrative, insights, and recommendations for assigned teams and the Northeast region.
• Present regional insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to the executive leadership team approximately one to two times annually.
• Present confidently to larger advisor audiences, including the firm’s Advisor Summit or on all company calls, when assigned.
• Identify, test, and help scale approved AI-enabled tools and content approaches that reduce manual work, improve personalization, and strengthen advisor marketing execution.
• Use field feedback, advisor performance data, and execution patterns to recommend improvements to scalable marketing programs.
• Own selected department projects, campaigns, pilots, and new client offerings when assigned.
• Define the outcome, stakeholders, timeline, dependencies, and measures of success.

• Assigned advisor teams have current, focused marketing plans tied to defined growth priorities.
• Assigned teams consistently engage in the marketing planning process and understand the actions expected of them.
• Advisor commitments, decisions, owners, and next steps are accurately documented and actively managed.
• Growth opportunities, advisor-engagement risks, and execution barriers are identified early and escalated appropriately.
• Marketing budgets are intentionally allocated, actively monitored, and redirected when necessary.
• Practice Management, Advisor Marketing Specialists, and functional partners have clear ownership and are working towards the regionally aligned goals.
• The region demonstrates progress in shared growth and experience measures, including net flows, Advisor Channel Inflows, NPS, and advisor survey results.
• Results are influenced by advisor action and cross-functional partnership.

Work Environment and Travel

• This is a remote position. Candidates should ideally work in the Eastern or Central time zone to support Northeast advisor teams and internal partners.
• Approximately four to six trips are anticipated annually, including the department retreat, the Advisor Summit, and up to four advisor-team visits. Actual travel may vary based on regional business needs.
• Travel may include advisor-team meetings, regional working sessions, client or prospect events, and firm gatherings. The consultant is expected to establish clear objectives for each visit and document resulting decisions and commitments.
• The annual business-planning cycle from October through December is a peak period for advisor planning, budgeting, and plan development.

Education/Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in marketing, sales enablement, practice management, field marketing, client success, or a related client-facing role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of stakeholder or client relationships and concurrent priorities with limited oversight.
• Ability to influence and gain commitment to action.
• Comfort interpreting dashboards and business performance data, using CRM information to investigate opportunities, and translating findings into clear recommendations.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, and executive communication skills, including the ability to present an articulate point of view to senior leaders and large advisor audiences, virtually and in-person.
• Ability to prioritize opportunities by business impact, establish accountability across stakeholders, and move complex issues toward resolution.
• Experience working across sales or advisor teams, marketing departments, and other corporate functions.
• Proficiency with CRM, reporting, project-management, and Microsoft 365 tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in wealth management, a registered investment adviser, financial services, or a similarly regulated industry. (Preferred)
• Experience supporting financial advisors, sales professionals, or a distributed field organization. (Preferred)
• Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform. (Preferred)
• Experience using AI-enabled marketing or productivity tools within approved business controls. (Preferred)

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $87,400.00 - $131,000.00. However, the base salary range bolded above ($88,000.00 to $100,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
