Project Manager – PMP Certified

Power Plant | EPC | Construction Project Experience Preferred

Smartland is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the development of multiple behind-the-meter (BTM) distributed power generation projects.

This is not a general Virtual Assistant position. We are looking for someone with real experience coordinating engineering or construction projects who can independently organize project documentation, manage schedules, track change orders, and maintain project controls while working remotely.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting power plants, EPC contractors, industrial construction, or large infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project document control systems
• Manage drawing registers, RFIs, transmittals, and document revisions
• Track change orders from request through approval
• Maintain project schedules and monitor milestones
• Prepare weekly project status reports for senior leadership
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors
• Track project risks, action items, and follow-ups
• Support procurement and contractor coordination
• Maintain organized lender-ready project files
• Assist with reporting across multiple active power generation projects

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Minimum 3+ years of project management or project coordination experience
• Experience supporting construction, EPC, industrial, infrastructure, or power generation projects
• Strong understanding of:
  • Document Control
  • Change Orders
  • RFIs
  • Submittals
  • Schedule Tracking
  • Project Reporting
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Required Certifications

Applicants must have at least 2 of the following 5 certifications or recognized formal training credentials:

1. PMP – Project Management Professional
2. Primavera P6 – Project Scheduling/Planning Certification or Training
3. Procore Certification
4. Aconex Certification or Training
5. CAPM – Certified Associate in Project Management

A minimum of 2 certifications is required to apply. Candidates with 3 or more relevant certifications will be strongly preferred.

Certifications must be relevant to the candidate's actual experience in project management, construction, EPC, engineering, or project controls. Certifications do not replace the requirement for 3+ years of hands-on project management or project coordination experience in construction, EPC, industrial, infrastructure, or power generation projects.

Applicants may be asked to provide proof of certification or training during the hiring process.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Power Plant Projects
• RICE Plants
• EPC Contractors
• Energy Infrastructure
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Primavera P6
• Microsoft Project
• Procore
• Aconex
• Bluebeam

Additional certifications such as PRINCE2 or CAPM are a plus. Relevant hands-on project experience remains highly important.

English Communication Requirement

Strong English communication skills are required for this position.

Applicants must have a minimum English proficiency level of B2, with C1 strongly preferred.

An English proficiency test result may not be required at the initial application stage. However, Smartland may request an IELTS or other English proficiency test result later in the hiring process, including after the interview, if needed to verify your English proficiency.

Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate strong written and spoken English throughout the application and interview process.
