About the Role

At OLX, Design is more than aesthetics, it's how millions of people build trust, discover opportunities, and connect with their communities. As Principal Brand Designer, you'll shape how OLX and its portfolio of brands are experienced across every customer touchpoint.

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you'll define the visual principles, creative systems, and brand standards that unite a diverse portfolio while allowing each brand to express its unique identity. This is a highly strategic, hands-on individual contributor role for someone who combines exceptional craft with systems thinking, influences through expertise, and embraces AI as a catalyst for creativity, consistency, and scale.

Working in close partnership with Marketing, Brand Strategy, Product Design, Communications, Employer Brand and regional teams, you'll translate business strategy, customer insights and brand positioning into cohesive creative systems that strengthen brand equity, build customer trust and accelerate high-quality execution across the organisation.

You'll establish the creative vision and quality bar for brand design, while building the frameworks, governance and tools that enable teams worldwide to create distinctive, consistent and impactful brand experiences.

What you'll own

Define the future of OLX’s Group's brand ecosystem

Partnering with the Director of Product Design, Marketing and Brand Strategy, you'll evolve the visual identity and creative direction across OLX Group and its portfolio of brands. You'll ensure our brands feel connected where they should, distinctive where they need to be, and consistently recognisable across every customer touchpoint.

• Group-wide brand identity systems and visual standards

• Brand visual identity governance, quality assurance and design principles

• Multi-brand design systems and asset libraries

• Creative direction across digital, physical and experiential touchpoints related to brand design (excludes advertising)

• Long-term evolution of OLX Group's visual identity and assets.

Build scalable creative systems powered by AI

You'll help define how AI enhances brand design across OLX Group by developing AI-ready design systems, prompt libraries, reusable templates, automation workflows and governance that empower teams to produce high-quality work consistently and efficiently.

Rather than replacing creativity, you'll ensure AI amplifies craftsmanship, accelerates production and strengthens consistency while maintaining the integrity of every brand.

You'll also stay ahead of emerging technologies, identifying opportunities where AI can improve creative workflows, collaboration and design quality across the organisation.

Raise the creative standard across OLX Group

As the most senior brand design practitioner, you'll establish the benchmark for the application of brand design across product launches, executive communications, presentations, employer branding, events, web experiences and marketing initiatives.

You'll provide creative direction, thoughtful critique and hands-on design leadership, ensuring every expression of the brand reflects exceptional craft, clarity and purpose.

Translate strategy into brand experiences

You'll partner closely with Marketing and Brand Strategy from the earliest stages of initiatives, transforming customer insights, research and business priorities into compelling visual systems and brand experiences.

You'll contribute strategic thinking—not simply execute briefs, helping teams solve complex business challenges through design that strengthens trust, recognition and long-term brand value.

Drive adoption and influence across the organisation

Creating great systems is only part of the role, you'll ensure they're embraced.

You'll build documentation, enablement programmes, design resources and governance models that help global and regional teams confidently apply OLX Group's brand standards.

You'll influence senior stakeholders across Product, Marketing and Executive Leadership, aligning teams around a shared creative vision and ensuring design has a meaningful voice in strategic decision-making.

Mentor and elevate the craft

As a Principal Designer, your influence extends well beyond your own work.

You'll coach designers through critique, mentoring and collaboration, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, systems thinking and continuous improvement. While this isn't a people management role, you'll be recognised as a trusted design leader whose expertise elevates the entire organisation.

You build frameworks, governance models, templates and design systems that enable organisations to produce consistently exceptional work. You know that the best design creates lasting capability, not just individual deliverables.

You bring strategy to life through Design

You're comfortable partnering with Marketing, Brand Strategy and executive stakeholders, translating positioning, customer insights and business objectives into creative systems that deliver measurable business impact.

You're fluent in AI-enabled Design

You already incorporate AI into your creative practice and understand where emerging technologies create value, and where human judgement remains essential.
You can translate those insights into scalable workflows that improve quality, speed, experimentation and consistency across teams.

You influence without authority

You communicate with clarity, build trusted relationships and bring people together around a shared creative vision. You're equally comfortable presenting to executives, collaborating with marketers or mentoring fellow designers.

You bring depth of experience

You'll likely have:

• 10+ years of experience in brand design, or visual design

• Experience building or evolving brands at scale across multiple products or markets

• Expertise in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience with motion design, storytelling, and digital brand experiences

• Experience building or contributing to enterprise design systems

• Deep familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows

• Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Hiring Process

We believe in a transparent and collaborative hiring process that reflects how we work as a team. Here’s what you can expect: First Stage
Portfolio & Design Leadership
This is a 90-minute session with the Hiring Manager. We’ll dive deep into your portfolio to assess your design craft, strategic thinking, systems mindset, and collaboration skills. This is also an opportunity to showcase your leadership in design and discuss how you approach complex challenges.

Second Stage
Multi-Brand Systems & Creative Leadership
In this 60-minute session, you’ll meet with a senior leader from the Creative team. We’ll explore your ability to build, evolve, and govern brand systems across a complex multi-brand organization. This stage focuses on your creative leadership and how you ensure consistency and innovation across diverse brands.
Third Stage
Executive Partnership & Business Impact
This 45-minute session is with a senior leader from the Marketing team. We’ll assess your leadership presence, ability to form strategic partnerships with Marketing, and your commercial thinking. This is also a chance to discuss how you drive organizational influence and deliver business impact through brand design.
