About the Job

We are looking for a full-time Head of Talent Acquisition to join our team, reporting to the Head of People Operations. As Throne’s first dedicated Talent Acquisition hire, you will be responsible for building and running our hiring engine for professional and managerial roles across engineering, product, sales, and corporate functions. You will partner closely with Finance, People Operations, our Founders and executive team, and hiring managers to connect hiring decisions to their tangible impact. While this role is being hired as an individual contributor given the nimble nature of our team, as Throne’s business needs grow, you may have the opportunity to build out a team to further support specialized recruiting efforts, high-volume field staffing, and other disciplines.

This role can be performed remotely within the United States, with flexibility expected to work across timezones to support hiring teams. Minimal domestic travel (less than 10%) will be required.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including equity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle recruiting for professional roles: Own the full-cycle recruiting for central roles across engineering, product, sales, and corporate functions, from intake and sourcing through offer and close. As the first internal talent acquisition hire, you will design the entire hiring process: sourcing strategy, structured interviews and scorecards, interviewer training for hiring managers, offer construction and approvals within Throne’s pay bands, and a candidate experience we are proud of. You will select and implement a scalable Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and use AI tooling (with unlimited Claude access) to automate scheduling, sourcing, and reporting from day one. If you are looking to maintain a well-established playbook, it does not exist, and this is not the right position for you.
• Partner with the business: Deeply understand the business by working with Finance, People Operations, Founders, and managers across every discipline. You will co-own the annual hiring plan with Finance and People Operations, including req prioritization and an honest view of whether the plan can be delivered with current resourcing. You will own recruiting metrics (time to fill, pipeline health, offer acceptance, candidate experience) and report monthly to the Founders and Finance. You will be expected to be commercially fluent in Throne’s business, and will be fully supported in that endeavor.
• Optimize field hiring: While not serving as a field recruiter, you will support our Operations and Production Managers to reduce time to fill and cost to hire in high-volume recruiting efforts. This will look like enabling them with easy to implement templates and hiring guides, tooling, and coaching to improve hiring practices.
• Leadership hiring: Run senior and executive searches (VP+ and GM level) as Throne expands into new markets, including selecting and managing retained search firms and agencies where needed. Own the recruiting budget and vendor relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, especially for professional and managerial roles
• Ability to partner closely with finance and business leaders to connect hiring plans to business outcomes
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and align hiring managers at every level in the organization
• Proven track record of recruiting for a variety of positions, including technical roles, sales, and corporate
• Experience selecting and implementing an ATS, with no particular preference given to one system
• Strong knowledge of compliant hiring practices across multiple states, including but not limited to CA, WA, and NY
• Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building or scaling a talent acquisition function, ideally as an early or first TA leader at a high-growth company
• Experience recruiting for government contractors or public-sector-facing businesses
• Experience working with visa sponsorship, such as coordinating with immigration counsel on H-1B, O-1, L-1B, and PERM cases
• Experience recruiting for hardware, IoT, or operations-heavy businesses
