Account Manager

Fully Remote — South Africa | Independent Contractor | Full-Time or Part-Time, UK business hours | UK marketing agency client

About the Role

Outsource Ability is recruiting on behalf of a UK marketing agency for an Account Manager to join their existing account management team.

You will take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of client accounts — setting up and running their marketing campaigns, managing their search and local presence, monitoring performance, and acting as the main point of contact from welcome call through to ongoing review meetings. Where campaigns are not delivering, you will be expected to identify why and put a fix in place rather than simply report the shortfall.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Delivery

• Build and launch marketing campaigns for client accounts across Meta and Google Ads.
• Check that live campaigns are set up and running correctly, and correct errors promptly.
• Monitor campaign performance against client objectives on an ongoing basis.
• Identify the cause when a campaign is underperforming and implement or recommend a fix.
• Keep campaign settings, budgets and targeting aligned with what has been agreed with the client.

SEO & Google Business Profile

• Carry out SEO set-up for client accounts and keep on-page and listing information accurate.
• Obtain and maintain access to each client's Google Business Profile.
• Keep Google Business Profile details — hours, services, contact information and imagery — complete and current.
• Create and publish Google Business Profile posts on an agreed schedule.
• Monitor search and local listing performance and flag where improvements are needed.

Client Relationship Management

• Run welcome calls with new clients and establish expectations, objectives and points of contact.
• Hold scheduled client review meetings by video call to present performance and agreed next steps.
• Act as the day-to-day contact for your accounts and respond to client queries promptly.
• Chase clients for the information, assets, approvals and platform access needed to keep work moving.
• Resolve client issues and complaints, escalating where a matter falls outside your remit.
• Maintain a professional, consultative manner with clients at all times.

Account Administration

• Prepare account and campaign reviews ahead of client meetings.
• Keep client records, campaign notes and next actions accurate and up to date in GoHighLevel.
• Track outstanding items across your portfolio and follow them through to completion.
• Work alongside the wider account management team to maintain consistent service standards.

Experience with every system is not essential, but you must be confident learning new technology.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Account management, client services or customer relations experience.
• Hands-on experience building and managing paid marketing campaigns.
• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and Google Business Profile management.
• Confident presenting performance and recommendations to clients on video calls.
• Strong spoken and written English, with a professional client-facing manner.
• Analytical approach — able to interpret campaign results and diagnose underperformance.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Proactive about chasing outstanding information and platform access without needing to be prompted.
• Calm and solutions-focused when handling client issues.
• Fast learner who is comfortable using new technology.

Advantageous

• Experience using GoHighLevel or a comparable CRM.
• Marketing agency experience.
• Experience writing content or posts for local search listings.
• Experience communicating with UK clients.
• Familiarity with AI tools in a professional environment.

Working Arrangements

• Full-time and part-time positions are available.
• Hours are worked during UK business times, with the specific pattern agreed on appointment.
• You will work as part of an established account management team.

Remote Work Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be based in South Africa.
• Have a modern laptop or PC (Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 equivalent or better, minimum 8GB RAM).
• Have a stable fibre internet connection with a minimum of 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
• Have a functional UPS, inverter or power station able to run a router and laptop for a minimum of 2–4 hours during load shedding.
• Have a professional headset with a clear, noise-cancelling microphone.
• Have a quiet workspace suitable for calls and video meetings.
• Be available for the agreed hours during UK business times.
