Web Developer (Summer Student)

This is a remote position.

The Government of Canada funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Eligibility requirements of the program:

• You must be aged between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Build software based on specifications not only to internal standards but also external customer needs. Will participate in design sessions of all aspects of the application. Must have a keen desire to learn about web-based technologies in general and some of the security aspects around them.Will be required to take change requests through any or all stages of their development including testing. Working in a team to accomplish the requests made as well as the goals set out by the company.Must be able to report progress daily and interact with others to meet deadlines and deliver results.Will be required to participate in peer code review of their own code as well as others.

Requirements

Desired Experience

· Minimum of two years of related experience in a Software Development or Testing;

· Good verbal and writing communication skills

· Ability to work in fast-paced agile environment and collaborative team

· Desired experience working with remote development and testing teams

· Experience or desire to learn with Team Foundation Server.

· Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment

· Customer focused attitude with a commitment to superior, high quality service and customer satisfaction

· Working towards a University and/or a College Degree in a related field

Competencies and Skills

• Basic understanding of OOP principles
• Basic understanding of Entity Framework, NHibernate or another ORM technology
• Basic understanding of relational databases concepts
• Understanding microservice architecture is a plus
• Experience working with Azure DevOps is a plus
• ​Experience building CI/CD pipelines is a plus
