About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented VA – Digital Design & Social Media Marketing to support a professional services business with branding, digital design, social media content and creative production.

This is a hands-on creative role, with design quality and ownership being the priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of original branding and logo work, as well as experience creating social media content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Create original logos, brand identities and visual systems.
• Design marketing collateral including proposals, business cards, one-pagers, email signatures and digital assets.
• Create social media content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
• Design posts, carousels, Stories, covers and YouTube thumbnails.
• Adapt creative and copy across platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
• Draft and proofread social media captions and marketing copy.
• Schedule and publish approved content and monitor comments/messages.
• Use AI tools such as Claude to support creative production while maintaining human quality control.
• Maintain organised design files, templates, asset libraries and version control.
• Manage creative tasks and deadlines independently and provide regular/weekly updates.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing original logo and brand identity work personally created by you.
• Proven vector design skills using Adobe Illustrator or an equivalent professional tool.
• Professional proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience creating social media content, including complete carousels and branded content.
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, spacing, hierarchy and colour.
• Confident using AI-assisted creative tools such as Claude.
• Excellent written English and proofreading skills.
• Ability to manage multiple brands, projects and deadlines independently.
• Availability for 40 hours/week aligned with AEST/AEDT.

Nice to Have

• Adobe InDesign and Figma experience.
• Meta Business Suite or GHL Social Planner experience.
• YouTube thumbnail/channel design.
• Print production knowledge.
• Experience building reusable templates and design systems.
• Understanding of social media performance metrics.

Portfolio Requirement

Portfolio quality will be a key factor in selection.

Candidates must provide:

• Original logo and brand identity projects.
• Evidence of true vector design work.
• Social media designs, including complete carousels.
• Live social media links where their work can be viewed in context, if available.

Template-only, copied/traced or unedited AI-generated work will not meet the requirements of this role.
