USA Eastern Regional Sales Director

Location: Remote—Eastern North America; must reside within the territory, preferably near a major airport
Reports to: Executive Vice President of Sales
Travel: Frequent regional travel with periodic national travel

Position Summary

Casambi is seeking a motivated, strategic Regional Sales Director to lead growth across the Eastern half of North America. This senior sales leader will serve as the primary point of contact for the region, strengthening relationships with sales agents, specifiers, distributors, contractors, and other market partners while developing opportunities in underserved areas. Working closely with the Executive Vice President of Sales and cross-functional colleagues, the Regional Sales Director will translate company strategy into regional sales plans, build market coverage, improve pipeline visibility, and help customers understand the value of Casambi’s scalable lighting-control ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with company revenue, growth, and market-development objectives.
• Establish annual and quarterly sales plans with agency partners, define measurable goals, and maintain regular communication on progress, opportunities, and risks.
• Review agency dashboards, CRM data, pipeline activity, forecasts, and key performance indicators to drive accountability and informed decision-making.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing agents, specifiers, electrical engineers, architects, distributors, contractors, national accounts, and other industry partners.
• Identify coverage gaps and recruit, interview, onboard, and develop new agents in unrepresented or underperforming markets.
• Support agents and customers through joint sales calls, design discussions, presentations, product demonstrations, project meetings, and on-site visits.
• Deliver continuing education, product training, and market-facing presentations that build partner confidence and position Casambi as a trusted controls resource.
• Proactively identify and advance project opportunities from specification through order, coordinating internal resources to resolve commercial and technical barriers.
• Monitor competitor activity, local market conditions, customer feedback, and industry trends; communicate actionable insights to sales, marketing, product, and support teams.
• Represent Casambi at regional and national trade shows, industry events, partner meetings, and professional associations.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of accounts, contacts, projects, activities, forecasts, and next steps in HubSpot and other company systems.
• Manage regional resources responsibly, including travel planning, expense control, and prioritization of high-impact opportunities.
• As the region grows, recruit, lead, coach, and develop two to three Regional Sales Managers, setting clear expectations and supporting strong performance.
• Conduct company business through approved company devices, systems, and software, including Outlook, HubSpot, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in lighting, lighting controls, electrical supply, electrical design, or a closely related industry.
• Proven outside-sales success across the agency, specification, distribution, contractor, or OEM channels.
• Demonstrated ability to build territory plans, manage a sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and use performance data to improve results.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, written communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Sound judgment, executive presence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively across functions.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft 365 applications; HubSpot experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to travel frequently throughout the territory and periodically to national meetings and events.

Preferred Industry Knowledge

• Established relationships with lighting agents, electrical engineers, architects, designers, distributors, contractors, or related partners in Eastern North America.
• Working knowledge of the lighting-industry go-to-market model, project lifecycle, channel structure, and competitive landscape.
• Ability to read construction drawings, lighting plans, specifications, and related project documents; experience with Bluebeam or similar software is preferred.
• Knowledge of lighting-control protocols, ecosystems, system design, commissioning, and connected-building technologies is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting wireless, wired, or hybrid lighting-control solutions is a plus.

Success will be measured through sustainable regional revenue growth, healthy pipeline development, forecast accuracy, partner engagement, expanded market coverage, effective project conversion, CRM use, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
