What’s the position?
The Trading Team Lead will report to the Trading Manager and will lead, train, and guide a team of traders based in the US, with responsibility for price creation, price management, risk monitoring and communication and optimizing profitability. The Trading Team Lead will ensure the team adheres to US regulatory and licensing requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices while achieving the business's financial objectives.
You will develop a strong command of our trading system architecture and how it interfaces with third-party suppliers. You may be required to deliver innovative, consistent, and bespoke pricing tailored to specific markets and demographics where required. You will bring deep knowledge of sports betting, odds compilation, and diverse trading strategies, along with hands-on experience in a sportsbook trading environment.
Team Leadership & Sport Ownership Model (Non US Core Sports)
The Trading Team Lead (US) will have direct reports made up of Sport Owners within the Sports Ownership Model & Traders. They will ensure each Sport Owner performs to standard across the following areas and stepping in directly where coverage, escalation, or quality gaps arise:
Trading & Risk Oversight: Ensure Sport Owners and traders are monitoring real-time exposure, identifying sharp action, setting appropriate limits, and protecting margin, with the Team Lead escalating and acting decisively during high-volume or live-event periods.
Third-Party Feed & Product Optimization: Oversee how the team manages, assesses, and optimizes third-party odds and data feeds, resolving escalated feed issues and ensuring bespoke pricing is created where required.
Competitive Benchmarking & Product Input: Review each Sport Owner's competitor benchmarking for pricing competitiveness, market uptime, and feature parity, and consolidate findings to shape roadmap priorities with product, quant, and trading management.
Analytical Ability & Reporting: Ensure the team produces data-driven analysis identifying value leaks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, and compile these into reporting for senior management.
Mentorship & Team Contribution: Coach and develop junior and mid-level traders directly, and ensure Sport Owners are sharing best practice in bookmaking, modelling, and risk principles across the wider desk.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact between the team's Sport Owners and product, quant, technology, and operations partners, ensuring insights and requirements flow both ways.

You have strong communication and presentation skills, and are decisive and logical in your thinking. Strong overall sporting knowledge, experience in the sports betting industry, and are customer-focused and proactive in how and when we deliver our proposition to them.
