Position Summary

The Senior Program Manager, leads enterprise-level enablement efforts that support the execution, adoption, and scale of Liberty Mutual’s employee engagement Torchbearers program — developing the tools, resources, operating rhythms, and reporting infrastructure that help leaders, employees, and cross-functional partners engage with the program consistently and effectively.

Operating with a high degree of independence, this role partners across Communications, HR, Operations, Data, and Technology to translate enterprise priorities into practical, scalable support mechanisms. Success requires strong program management discipline, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders, create clarity, and drive execution across a matrixed environment — advancing the employee engagement experience through strong governance, user-focused resources, and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

Program Enablement and Execution

Lead prioritized enablement workstreams, translating program priorities into sequenced, actionable plans with clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and outcomes.
Serve as a strategic thought partner on how Torchbearers initiatives are packaged, activated, and operationalized across the enterprise.
Drive day-to-day execution with strong program management rigor, tracking deliverables, dependencies, and timelines across workstreams to ensure commitments are met.
Build repeatable approaches and recommend improvements — based on data, feedback, and enterprise needs — that strengthen consistency, effectiveness, and scalability.

Self-Service Resources and Governance

Develop and maintain self-service tools, playbooks, templates, guidance documents, FAQs, and job aids that enable efficient, consistent program participation.
Establish standards for the development, maintenance, and governance of Torchbearers enablement assets, ensuring materials are actionable, accessible, current, and fit for purpose across stakeholder groups.
Maintain ownership, version control, and documentation standards for program resources, and support consistent governance, review, and approval processes for Torchbearers materials and deliverables.
Identify opportunities to streamline execution, reduce manual effort, and strengthen operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Partnership, Stakeholder Engagement, and Leadership

Partner with HR, Communications, Operations, Data, Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure Torchbearers is well integrated across the enterprise.
Influence stakeholders at multiple levels to align on execution approach, timing, dependencies, and resource requirements.
Surface issues, constraints, and risks proactively, and drive resolution in a constructive, solutions-oriented manner.
Bring a consultative approach to problem solving and stakeholder management; may coordinate the work of contractors or matrixed partners in support of program deliverables.
Model Liberty values and a high-performance, collaborative mindset in all interactions.

Measurement, Reporting, and Insights

Monitor and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting that assess adoption, utilization, effectiveness, and progress against program goals.
Use data, stakeholder feedback, and observed trends to identify opportunities to improve program support and execution.
Develop executive-level updates, recommendations, and narrative reporting that connect program activity to outcomes and enterprise value.
Partner with data and technology teams to ensure information is accurate, actionable, and sustainable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5–10+ years of experience in program management, operations, enablement, internal consulting, communications, or a related enterprise discipline.
Demonstrated success leading strategic workstreams and building scalable support infrastructure — including toolkits, playbooks, operating guides, or self-service resources — in a complex, matrixed environment.
Strong program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders independently, and to create leverage through structure, clarity, and repeatable execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create concise, executive-level materials and compelling narratives.
Proven ability to influence without authority, build alignment across senior and cross-functional stakeholders, and collaborate and facilitate effectively with leaders, peers, and working teams enterprise-wide.
Strong business acumen and judgment, with the ability to connect execution detail to broader enterprise priorities.
Ability to use data, dashboards, and feedback to improve adoption, effectiveness, and decision-making.
Demonstrated curiosity and experience with GenAI, digital tools, automation, or other innovations that improve operational efficiency, communications quality, and impact.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in enterprise program enablement, internal operations, communications operations, or shared services within a large organization, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives with multiple stakeholder groups and competing priorities.
Familiarity with change management, governance frameworks, and adoption strategies.
Experience developing resources or operating support for employee-facing, leader-facing, or enterprise program experiences, using platforms for knowledge management, content governance, workflow tracking, or program administration.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
