LabXchange is a nonprofit education project based at Harvard University. Too many students, whether because of economic or geographic limitations, lack access to high-quality science education and the chance to engage meaningfully in the scientific process. Globally, this has led to significant gaps in diversity across scientific fields and in scientific literacy overall. To make that real, LabXchange offers the best of digital science education to teachers and students around the world, for free, through an advanced, flexible and interactive learning platform. It goes well beyond text, video and multiple-choice questions, with virtual lab simulations, interactive animations, experimental design simulations and a knowledge graph that can be remixed into customised learning pathways. Social features like private classes, discussion forums and mentorship connect learners with educators.

About the role

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own growth for the LabXchange platform: more learners and educators finding it, and more of them coming back. You'll set the growth strategy, turn data into a clear roadmap, and work with engineering, design, content and marketing to ship experiments that move acquisition, activation and engagement. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who is as comfortable in a dashboard as in a roadmap review.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the growth strategy for LabXchange across acquisition, activation, engagement and retention, and turn it into a prioritised roadmap. This will include the USA and a global strategy.
• Grow the user base by finding and scaling the channels that bring in students, educators and institutions, including organic search, marketing, partnerships and referral loops.
• Increase engagement by improving onboarding, discovery and the paths that bring learners and educators back week after week.
• Lead with data. Define the growth metrics, build and maintain dashboards, run funnel and cohort analysis, and use the findings to decide what to build next.
• Run a steady experimentation programme: form hypotheses, design A/B tests, size impact and share what you learn.
• Drive SEO and content discoverability with content and engineering teams, so our simulations, lessons and pathways reach people searching for them.
• Manage the core library experience: how learners and educators find, browse and reach the right content, and how the library is organised so that it happens quickly. Manage the development and redesign of the LabXchange platform.
• Work across teams with engineering, design, content, marketing and partners, and keep stakeholders and funders informed on progress and results.
• Manage stakeholders and projects across multiple capabilities (engineering, design, content, marketing and partners), keeping priorities, timelines, dependencies and expectations aligned from kickoff through delivery.
• Keep stakeholders in the loop. Announce releases in various Slack channels and facilitate catchups with various stakeholders.
• Bring in the user's voice through interviews, surveys and usability testing with students and educators around the world.
• Manage a multi-timezone team to achieve LabXchange’s growth goals.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who can own growth end to end, make sense of the data and confidently lead the work that gets more learners and educators using LabXchange.

• 8+ years of relevant experience in product management, with a strong track record in growth.
• Proven results growing a digital product's user base and engagement, with the numbers to show for it.
• Strong data analytics skills.
• Hands-on experience running growth tests.
• Ability to turn analysis into clear priorities and explain them to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working closely with engineering, design and marketing teams.
• Experience running an outsourced engineering team alongside in-house designers and content staff.
• Comfortable experimenting with AI tools, especially Claude and Claude Code, to speed up processes and workflows, and open to testing other tools as they emerge.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa.

Nice to have

• SEO experience, including technical SEO, content strategy and keyword research.
• Experience in education technology, online learning or science content.
• Experience with mission-driven, non-profit or grant-funded products.
• Familiarity with growing products for a global audience, including emerging markets.
