This role is based in London and candidates must have the existing right to work in the UK. Taskrabbit is a hybrid company, with employees working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in Central London (Soho). 

About the role:

The Globalization team sits within the Product organization and ensures the Taskrabbit experience is fully localized and culturally resonant across all our international markets: Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. We are growth partners and brand guardians for Marketing, Product, Partnerships, and Tasker Operations, among many other departments, elevating brand recognition and unlocking net revenue everywhere.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Localization Specialist to join the team, managing all localization needs with expertise on the Italian locale. In this role, you will balance global localization project management across all markets, including high-touch, complex requests outside our automated pipeline, with full ownership of your language. You will be a strategic architect of our international presence: serving as the cultural bridge between our global product and the Italian market, ensuring our mission to transform lives feels assolutamente autentica, and collaborating with the wider Italian team to bring a strategy to life. You will coordinate translation work with our dedicated external agencies and contractors, and you will also adapt, proofread, edit, or transcreate content. Ideally, you will also contribute creatively to content development by writing original copy.

You will own the evolution of our linguistic assets with the rest of the Globalization team, including glossaries, style guides, but also multilingual guidelines and resources used by all departments. As an internal consultant, you will support stakeholders with expert guidance on cultural nuances and globalization best practices across all territories.

What you will work on:

• Manage global localization workflows on Smartling across all markets and locales, with dedicated in-house oversight and review for Italian.
• Orchestrate work with our dedicated translation agencies and build deep, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain reference materials for linguists, to keep a consistent voice in your locale and ensure best practices.
• Perform Quality Assurance checks to ensure our comms, resources and UX are of the highest standard and they adhere to our linguistic assets.
• Adapt and/or review content directly on our TMS (Smartling).
• Test and assess AI-driven workflows to scale our operations and improve efficiency, while maintaining localization quality.
• Carry out comprehensive localization audits, testing the full user journey to remove friction and enhance the customer experience and our performance metrics.
• Project manage cross-functional international initiatives, working with remote teams in different areas and time zones.

What we are looking for:

• An Italian localization expert.
• A passion for language, communication, and storytelling.
• A minimum of 5 years hands-on localization experience, with a strong background in translation, linguistics, transcreation, content creation, QA, and cultural adaptation.
• Excellent communication and organization skills. You are capable of carrying out all duties in a fast-paced environment as part of a hybrid international team.
• Solid understanding of CAT tools, including familiarity with MT and AI-driven workflows and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to move from reactive translation management to proactive global strategy, identifying and solving complex workflow and content challenges.
• An experienced project manager, capable of working cross-functionally, managing expectations, understanding priorities, and delivering on time.
• A seasoned specialist who understands the nature, needs and nuances of different content types: Marketing, Product and Engineering, Customer Support, Partnerships, etc.
• A forensic eye for detail and a strong curiosity about how things work.
• A clear, kind, and considerate professional who takes pride in a job well done.

Compensation & Benefits: 

At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent, and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.

The base pay range for this position is £49,000 - $£60,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
