Senior Field Sales Executive (Remote, US)

Job Description

Stepan is seeking a remote Senior Field Sales Executive to join our Consumer Products Surfactant sales team in the Eastern US region (IN, KY, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV) area. In this role, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager and drive profitable growth across a portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers while identifying and converting new business opportunities within assigned territory/market. You will operate with a high degree of independence and commercial judgment while managing complex customer relationships and sales opportunities including developing and executing territory and customer strategies and coordinating cross-functional resources to deliver customer and business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with company growth objectives, while meeting or exceeding annual sales targets.
• Manage more complex and/or higher-value commercial opportunities, applying sound judgment to prioritize resources and advance opportunities through the sales process.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships across customer organizations, including purchasing, technical, commercial, and senior decision-making stakeholders.
• Coordinate all Stepan interactions with customer including management visits, R&D programs, technical service support, etc.
• Develop knowledge of target markets, technologies, industry trends, and competitive dynamics, and represent Stepan at customer meetings and relevant industry events.
• Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce updates for customer meetings, opportunity pipeline management, and sales forecasts

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant sales or commercial experience preferred, ideally within specialty chemicals or a related B2B industry; knowledge of surfactants required
• Demonstrated success managing and growing a customer portfolio and developing new business, including ability to manage complex customer relationships and commercial opportunities with a high degree of independence.
• Strong knowledge of relevant markets, customers, applications, and competitive dynamics.
• Proven ability to collaborate and influence effectively across technical and business functions without direct authority.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including an understanding of pricing, volume, margin, and profitability drivers.
• Proficiency with CRM/Salesforce and standard business tools; experience with Power BI, SAP, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required to support assigned customers and territory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; a technical or scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Pay Range: $106,000 - $167,300
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
