WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Account Executive serves as a senior client relationship leader and strategic advisor for complex and strategic accounts. This individual in this role builds trusted client relationships, provides data-driven and consultative recommendations to improve plan performance and service delivery, and supports client retention and growth. The Senior Account Executive serves as a resource for escalated client matters, provides guidance and mentorship to Account Executives and partners across internal teams, carriers, vendors and other stakeholders to deliver effective client solutions and consistent service.

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

Serves as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned complex or strategic accounts, building strong client relationships that support satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership success.
Leads strategic account planning and client stewardship, aligning service strategies with client business, financial and operational objectives.
Analyzes and interprets claims, utilization, financial, and reporting data to identify trends, risks, and cost-containment opportunities and develops strategic recommendations to improve plan performance and outcomes.
Anticipates client needs and independently develops consultative, solution-oriented strategies to address complex business, service, and plan-performance challenges.
Serves as an escalation resource for complex client matters, coordinating internal teams, carriers, vendors, and partners to develop effective solutions.
Provides guidance and mentorship to Account Executives, shares subject-matter expertise and supports consistent client service practices across the team.
Independently identifies client risks, service trends, and opportunities to strengthen client satisfaction and retention, proactively developing recommendations to address identified needs.
Coordinates with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and partners to resolve complex client issues and deliver effective service solutions.
Oversees account deliverables, reporting, documentation, and ongoing communication to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
Provides consultative guidance on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments impacting self-funded health plans and TPA services.
Leads and supports complex renewals, proposals, client reviews, and strategic account initiatives, identifying opportunities to expand services, strengthen client relationships, and support retention and growth.
Fully adopts and effectively leverages innovative technology, including Relation's proprietary AI solutions, reporting tools, and automation, to strengthen analysis, enhance client service, and improve operational efficiency.
Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Four-year degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience in account management, client services, relationship management, or a related customer-facing role within healthcare, employee benefits, insurance, or TPA operations, including managing complex or strategic client relationships.
Experience in healthcare TPA, self-funded plans, employee benefits, or managed care environments preferred.
Knowledge of claims analysis, utilization reporting, healthcare cost-containment strategies, and applicable regulatory requirements preferred.
Experience supporting complex renewals, proposals, business reviews, client reporting, and account growth initiatives preferred.
Advanced knowledge of self-funded health plans, TPA operations, and client service workflows.
Demonstrated experience managing complex client relationships and resolving escalated client matters.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret claims, utilization, and reporting data and translate findings into strategic client recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide guidance to colleagues while promoting consistent service delivery.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship management skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence clients and internal partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with reporting tools, systems, or CRM platforms, with the ability to learn new technologies and applications.
