Remote Senior Developer

Job Summary:

We are searching for the right candidate to help direct system testing and validation procedures. This lead developer will be responsible for day-to-day activities with interest in the final product being delivered. Primary duties revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance or upgrade interfaces.

Requirements:

• Must have high speed internet connection; A reliable high-speed internet connection (cable, DSL or fiber) with speeds of at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload
• A quiet, private, distraction-free home office work environment
• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or related field) OR equivalent in IT related field/work experience
• 5+years’ experienceof software development experience
• Experience in the following scripted languages: ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, and Python
• The ability to apply several tool suites related to DevSecOps, microservices and containers, leveraging Kubernetes/RedHat OCP and Docker builds
• Experience in the following:
  1. containerization development/deployments on SIPRNet and JWICS networks
  2. cloud-based and Micro systems
  3. experience leading complex DevSecOps programs
  4. cloud, cyber and platform technologies

Preferred Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of programming languages and software development lifecycle
• Modifying software
• Testing software changes
• Analyzing information to recommend and plan development stories
• Desire to work in fast-paced environment
• Ability to develop unit testing of code requirements
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects
• Ability to communicate with other team members effectively

Primary Responsibilities:

• With limited guidance performs defect correction (analysis, design, code) on less complex issues and/or codes applications of medium complexity.
• With guidance begins to install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages.
• Works with more tenured peers to gain an understanding of systems while conducting root cause analysis of issues, reviewing new and existing code, and/or performing unit testing
• Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
• Team level architectural and engineering:
  1. Support and work alongside a cross-functional team on the latest technologies
  2. Sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing throughout the team
  3. Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
  4. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to improve automation of workflows, infrastructure, code testing and deployment
  5. Continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards, and make recommendations for improvement
  6. Propose, scope, design, and implement various infrastructure architectures
  7. Brainstorm new products, updates, and solutions to continuously challenge and improve products, performance, system/data backup, security and customer experience
  8. Remain up to date on industry trends, share knowledge among teams and abide by industry best practices for configuration management and automation

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
