About the Role
We are looking for a Regional Payroll Specialist to own and coordinate payroll operations across BJAK Group and its businesses, supporting employees across multiple countries and employment structures.
This is a hands-on role responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and on time, payroll inputs are properly controlled, and statutory requirements are met. You will work across internal HR and Finance teams, local payroll providers and Employer of Record (EOR) partners to manage payroll from input collection through reconciliation and completion.
The role is suited to someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working across different countries and able to build reliable payroll processes as the organisation scales.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing monthly payroll cycles across multiple countries, entities and employment arrangements.
Preparing and validating payroll inputs including salaries, new hires, terminations, bonuses, allowances, deductions, unpaid leave and other employee changes.
Reviewing payroll calculations and reports before approval to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Coordinating with local payroll vendors, EOR partners and internal teams to ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
Managing statutory payroll requirements including taxes, social contributions, pension or other mandatory contributions across different jurisdictions.
Handling payroll-related employee queries and resolving discrepancies quickly and accurately.
Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding from a payroll perspective, including final pay calculations and required documentation.
Reconciling payroll outputs against HR records, approved compensation changes and Finance records.
Maintaining accurate payroll documentation, records, approvals and audit trails.
Building and improving payroll SOPs, controls, calendars and reporting as the group expands into new markets.
Supporting the implementation and ongoing administration of payroll and HR systems.
Working closely with HR, Finance, Legal and external partners on payroll compliance, audits and operational issues.
What You'll Need
3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally supporting employees across multiple countries or entities.
Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll operations, including payroll inputs, calculations, reconciliation and statutory requirements.
Experience working with external payroll providers and/or EOR partners.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with sensitive employee and compensation data.
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, with confidence handling payroll data and reconciliations.
Ability to manage multiple payroll calendars, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
Strong ownership - you follow issues through to resolution rather than simply passing them to a vendor.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
Experience supporting payroll across Asia, Europe, the UK and/or US.
Experience in a fast-growing technology company or international startup.
Experience implementing or migrating payroll/HRIS systems.
Familiarity with multi-entity payroll, EOR arrangements and distributed teams.
Experience supporting payroll audits, statutory reporting or payroll accounting.
What Success Looks Like
Payroll runs accurately and on time across every market you support. Employee changes are reflected correctly, discrepancies are caught before payment, vendors are managed closely, and HR and Finance have clear, reliable payroll records.
As the group grows, you will help turn country-by-country payroll processes into a scalable and well-controlled operating model.
