PreSales Solutions Consultant (Retail)

Overview

The Solutions Consultant is a trusted technical and business advisor who partners with Sales to help enterprise retailers evaluate and adopt Tulip’s market-leading retail platform. Working across the entire sales cycle, you will uncover customer challenges, design tailored solution strategies, and deliver compelling demonstrations that connect Tulip’s capabilities to measurable business outcomes.

This role combines consultative discovery, executive storytelling, solution design, and technical expertise to help leading retailers and luxury brands transform the in-store and omnichannel customer experience. You’ll collaborate closely with Account Executives, Product, Marketing, and Retail Excellence to win strategic opportunities while representing Tulip as a subject matter expert in retail technology.

The ideal candidate has experience in enterprise pre-sales or solutions consulting, enjoys solving complex customer challenges, and is passionate about retail, customer experience, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and uncover customer business, operational, and technical requirements through consultative discovery.
• Lead compelling product demonstrations tailored to each prospect’s retail workflows, business priorities, and success criteria.
• Design solution strategies that clearly articulate how Tulip addresses customer challenges and delivers measurable business value.
• Participate throughout the enterprise sales cycle, supporting strategic opportunities from initial discovery through contract signature.
• Scope and lead Proof of Concept (POC) engagements where required.
• Own or contribute to technical responses for Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and security questionnaires.
• Develop and maintain compelling demo environments, reusable demo scenarios, and industry-specific storytelling aligned to Tulip’s latest capabilities.
• Stay current on Tulip product releases, competitive offerings, and retail technology trends, translating new functionality into customer value.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Retail Excellence, and Professional Services to ensure customer needs are accurately represented and successfully transitioned following sale.
• Represent Tulip at executive briefings, customer workshops, webinars, conferences, and industry events.
• Mentor teammates by sharing product knowledge, retail best practices, and effective demonstration techniques.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects by simplifying complex technical concepts for both business and technical audiences.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, or Technical Pre-Sales within enterprise SaaS.
• Demonstrated success leading executive-level software demonstrations throughout complex enterprise sales cycles.
• Strong consultative discovery skills with the ability to understand customer business objectives and translate them into compelling solution recommendations.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage both executive and technical stakeholders.
• Experience partnering closely with enterprise Account Executives on strategic opportunities.
• Ability to discuss integrations, APIs, data flows, enterprise architecture, and technical concepts at an appropriate level for customer audiences.
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and communicate their value effectively.
• Fluent English (additional languages are a plus).
• Willingness to travel internationally (primarily North America and Europe).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with retail technology from either the retailer or technology vendor side.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Clienteling
  • Point of Sale (POS)
  • Order Management Systems (OMS)
  • CRM
  • Commerce platforms
  • Customer engagement platforms
  • Store operations technology
  • Omnichannel retail solutions
• Experience selling into enterprise retail or luxury retail organizations.
• Familiarity with modern retail ecosystems, including integrations across commerce, CRM, POS, and customer data platforms.
• Experience supporting strategic enterprise accounts with customized demonstrations, workshops, or Proof of Concepts.
