The Opportunity

FiveBy is seeking a full-time Practice Lead to own the performance, health, and growth of its fraud and trust and safety portfolio. This is FiveBy's senior operational and subject-matter leadership role for the practice. The Practice Lead is accountable for executive client confidence, delivery quality, people leadership, account health, practice methods, and renewal readiness across major technology clients.

The role requires deep practical fraud expertise, strong people management, exacting quality standards, and calm judgment with senior clients. It guides service priorities and capacity and provides strategic and conceptual analytical frameworks to the delivery team, with technical fraud execution led by the senior delivery specialists. The Practice Lead contributes to growth by delivering work that earns renewals, identifying credible expansion opportunities, and helping shape solutions.

What You Will Own

Client and Engagement Leadership

• Own senior delivery relationships and executive client confidence across the portfolio, while dedicated program managers remain the primary day-to-day coordination contacts.
• Set engagement strategy, priorities, delivery capacity, team composition, coverage expectations, and material changes in direction in partnership with client leaders and FiveBy program managers.
• Lead major client escalations and crises, bringing consequential account decisions to resolution with the appropriate FiveBy and client stakeholders.
• Oversee scope, staffing, commitments, account health, and delivery risk. Surface margin, capacity, and renewal concerns early.

Delivery Quality and Fraud Expertise

• Set quality standards and make the final determination that client-facing work is accurate, complete, clear, and defensible before release.
• Provide senior oversight and practical guidance on fraud strategy, program maturity, operating models, investigations, controls, and mitigation approaches.
• Contribute directly to complex investigations, pattern analysis, detection signal design, heuristics, and program-level decisions when senior judgment is needed.
• Provide strategic and analytical frameworks for ambiguous fraud and operational questions, relying on technical leads when specialized domains fall outside the role's deepest expertise.

People and Practice Leadership

• Manage, coach, and develop Client Leads and Principal Consultants, and ensure effective people management throughout each client team.
• Build a stable, high-performing team by clarifying roles, addressing performance concerns promptly, retaining key employees, and developing future leaders.
• Define and improve the practice's service offerings, delivery methods, staffing criteria, quality controls, and reusable tools.
• Turn lessons from engagements into practical FiveBy intellectual property, including playbooks, templates, investigation methods, fraud heuristics, and detection frameworks.
• Recommend investments in tools, capabilities, and talent that improve quality, differentiation, and scalability.
• Represent the practice in FiveBy leadership discussions and contribute to company strategy, capability planning, and resource decisions.

Growth and Market Leadership

• Earn renewal readiness through strong execution and clear client value and identify useful expansion opportunities within client relationships and bring them to the sales team to shape and pursue.
• Contribute fraud expertise to solution design, proposals, statements of work, and executive presentations while respecting the commercial owner's responsibility for pricing, contracting, and negotiation.
• Strengthen FiveBy's reputation through thoughtful industry participation, relationship development, and practical thought leadership in fraud and trust and safety.

What You Bring

Required Experience and Capabilities

• Fifteen or more years of experience in fraud operations, fraud risk management, trust and safety, payments risk, online security, or a related field.
• At least four years in consulting, professional services, or an advisory role with responsibility for senior client relationships and delivery outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience building or leading a fraud program, team, or practice and managing experienced professionals. A record of developing leaders, retaining critical employees, and addressing performance concerns directly and fairly.
• Deep practical knowledge of fraud programs, investigations, controls, operations, and relevant fraud types, such as account abuse, promotional and referral fraud, synthetic identity, payment and chargeback fraud, and coordinated abuse.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to frame ambiguous strategic and operational problems.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, including the ability to review and produce executive-ready work and represent FiveBy credibly with senior clients.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• A full-time, multi-year commitment to building FiveBy's primary growth practice.

Preferred Experience

• Experience advising CISO, vice president, or executive director-level clients.
• Familiarity with fraud analytics and dashboard tools such as Mode, Tableau, or Looker, and the ability to work substantively with data analysts.
• Experience with open-source research and investigative platforms such as DomainTools, TLO, or IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook.
• Relevant certification such as CFE, CFCS, Certified Payments and Fraud Prevention Professional, PMP, or PgMP. Up to date industry acumen.
• External contributions through white papers, conferences, or working groups.

What We Offer

Wage and Benefits

This role has a starting salary range of $175,000 to $200,000 per year. The full range for this level and function within FiveBy is $174,000 to $210,000 per year. These ranges are applicable for the labor market of the Greater Seattle Area. It is common for FiveBy to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate's unique qualifications and experience.

FiveBy employees are eligible to participate in FiveBy’s group medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. FiveBy covers 100% of monthly premiums for individual employees – additional qualifying beneficiaries may be added at the expense of the sponsoring employee. FiveBy also provides a 401k Plan with employer matching, 120 hours of PTO annually (pro rata for hourly employees), and 10 paid holidays per year.

In order to perform this role, the selected employee must be able to operate within a standard office environment, with or without reasonable accommodation. This role requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, communicate with others via speech or text, and use hands or other tools to operate a computer and keyboard. Due to the nature of our work, employees must be able to uphold the stress of traveling to client sites as well as adapt (within reason) to the conditions of client sites. Regular, predictable attendance is required, as is the ability to work outside of standard business hours as business needs dictate.
