Payroll Tax Analyst
Position Summary:
MediaCo has a need for a temporary Payroll Tax Analyst, who will play a critical role in supporting Payroll department operations. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task; have a strong sense of organization; have expert knowledge of US payroll taxes; and work as part of a team, as well as individually, with minimal supervision. The expected length of employment for this position is 6 months.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing payroll taxes in approximately 21 states for 3 FEINs
- Optimizing current payroll software (ADP Workforce Now with Smart Compliance) to review, track and maintain agency communications
- Setting up new jurisdictions and registering jurisdictions with ADP for processing
- Resolving on-going tax issues with agencies
- Analyzing payroll data and preparing tax reports, as necessary
- Administering agency user access and company website access
- Standardizing processes, suggesting process improvement opportunities, and organizing large amounts of documentation
- Reconciling prior quarter/year filings with ADP to ensure compliance, as needed
- Amendment processing, Year End processing and preparation for the new year
- Supporting the Payroll Department with best practices, utilizing up-to-date tax knowledge
- Communicating with Payroll/HR, Business Partners and Management
- Performing other related duties as required and assigned
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of experience
- Expert knowledge of multi-state taxation, compliance, and payroll reporting
- Experience in ADP Smart Compliance, ADP Service Requests, and working with ADP representatives
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) and knowledge of other standard software including Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task
