Part-time Virtual Medical Assistant | New York Mental Health Practice

Are you an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant with a background in mental health or behavioral health?

We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented professional to support a solo, independent psychiatric nurse practitioner practice in New York providing medication management through telehealth and in-person appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule patient appointments and send reminders
• Support patient intake and insurance verification
• Sort and route incoming patient portal messages
• Prepare paperwork for prior authorizations
• Submit and follow up on insurance claims
• Send pre-approved standard patient communications
• Log prescription refill requests and queue them for provider review
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient communication and documentation

Requirements:

• Experience working in a New York mental health or behavioral health practice
• Previous experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or healthcare administrative professional
• Familiarity with insurance verification, patient intake, scheduling, and claims
• Comfortable handling confidential patient information
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with New York healthcare and payer processes
