We're expanding our international team and looking for an experienced, bilingual Marketing Strategist based in Mexico who brings strong digital marketing expertise, commercial awareness, and a passion for helping businesses grow.

Experience in optometry, optical retail, ophthalmology, or healthcare marketing would be particularly valuable.

About the Role

As a Marketing Strategist, you will develop, guide, and continuously optimize digital marketing strategies for a portfolio of independent eye care practices.

This is a strategic position rather than a purely operational marketing role. You'll analyze marketing performance, identify growth opportunities, develop actionable recommendations, and collaborate with specialist teams to deliver measurable business results.

You'll work closely with Client Strategists, SEO Specialists, Paid Media Specialists, Content Writers, Designers, Developers, and Project Managers.

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing professional who understands how digital marketing drives business growth and can confidently communicate recommendations in both Spanish and English.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Marketing Strategy & Planning

• Develop and maintain comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with client business objectives.
• Create annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing plans with measurable goals.
• Identify growth opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and performance data.
• Recommend improvements to existing marketing initiatives.
• Develop strategic marketing roadmaps that support both immediate results and long-term business growth.
• Provide clear strategic direction to internal marketing and production teams.

2. SEO, Local Search & Online Visibility

• Develop and guide SEO and local search strategies to increase qualified organic traffic.
• Identify opportunities across technical SEO, on-page optimization, content marketing, and website structure.
• Evaluate Google Business Profile performance and local search visibility.
• Conduct keyword and competitor research.
• Monitor changes in search algorithms, AI-powered search, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
• Collaborate with SEO and content specialists to improve organic performance.

3. Paid Advertising & Campaign Strategy

• Develop integrated marketing strategies across Google Ads, Meta Ads, social media, and email marketing.
• Analyze campaign performance and recommend improvements to targeting, messaging, and budget allocation.
• Collaborate with Paid Media Specialists to optimize campaign effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to improve lead generation, cost per acquisition, and return on advertising spend.
• Recommend A/B testing and campaign optimization initiatives.

4. Website Performance & Conversion Optimization

• Evaluate website performance and identify opportunities to improve conversion rates.
• Analyze the customer journey from initial online discovery to inquiry and appointment booking.
• Recommend improvements to landing pages, calls-to-action, website content, and user experience.
• Work with design and development teams to implement conversion improvements.
• Support marketing automation and AI-powered solutions that improve customer engagement.

5. Marketing Analytics & Reporting

• Analyze digital marketing performance using platforms such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Google Business Profile, and Looker Studio.
• Interpret campaign performance, website traffic, lead generation, and conversion data.
• Translate complex marketing metrics into practical business recommendations.
• Identify performance trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
• Support Client Strategists with insights for client business reviews.
• Connect marketing performance to measurable business outcomes.

6. Business Growth & Industry Understanding

• Develop an understanding of client business models, target audiences, services, and competitive environments.
• Identify opportunities to increase customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
• Support marketing strategies for optometry and ophthalmology services.
• Recommend initiatives that strengthen competitive positioning and business growth.
• Understand how marketing investments contribute to commercial performance.

7. Bilingual Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders in English and Spanish.
• Support Spanish-language marketing initiatives, including reviewing messaging, campaign content, and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate with international teams to ensure marketing strategies are aligned with client objectives.
• Provide clear marketing recommendations and strategic insights.
• Work effectively in a remote, multicultural environment.

8. AI & Marketing Innovation

• Explore and adopt AI-powered tools that improve marketing research, analysis, reporting, and campaign planning.
• Stay informed about emerging digital marketing technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive marketing processes.
• Contribute ideas that improve marketing effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in digital marketing, marketing strategy, performance marketing, or related fields.
• Fluent Spanish, with strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Currently based in Mexico.
• Proven experience developing and optimizing digital marketing campaigns.
• Strong understanding of SEO, local SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, social media marketing, and conversion optimization.
• Experience working with marketing analytics and performance reporting.
• Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Comfortable collaborating with international teams during US Eastern Time working hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, optical retail, healthcare, or medical services marketing.
• Previous experience working with US or international clients.
• Experience in a digital marketing agency managing multiple client accounts.
• Familiarity with SEMrush, Ahrefs, Looker Studio, and marketing automation platforms.
• Experience with AI-powered marketing tools and workflow automation.
• Knowledge of lead generation, customer acquisition, and conversion rate optimization.
• Experience developing bilingual marketing campaigns for English- and Spanish-speaking audiences.
