L2 Cloud Implementation Engineer

About the Role

XTIUM is looking for an L2/L3 Cloud Implementation Engineer to deliver and support Microsoft, Citrix, Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions for our customers. You will take escalations from the L1/L2 service desk, resolve complex incidents, and carry out hands-on implementation, migration and optimisation projects. You will work closely with L3 architects and customer technical teams, and act as the technical point of contact for day-to-day change and delivery work.

What You Will Do

Microsoft Azure:

• Deploy and support Azure IaaS and PaaS: virtual machines, VNets, NSGs, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
• Build and manage hybrid connectivity: Site-to-Site VPN, Azure Firewall and DNS.
• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy and RBAC.
• Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, images, FSLogix and scaling plans.

Citrix:

• Implement and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and Citrix DaaS: Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Studio, machine catalogues, Delivery Groups and policies.
• Build and maintain master images (MCS), profile management, Workspace Environment Management and application layering/delivery.
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and Gateway: load balancing, SSL/TLS profiles, authentication (LDAP, SAML, OAuth/OIDC), responder policies and HA.
• Use Citrix ADM for configuration jobs, StyleBooks, certificate management and analytics.
• Troubleshoot ICA/HDX, logon performance and connectivity using Director and related tools.

Microsoft Infrastructure

• Support Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and PKI (AD CS).
• Maintain file services, patching (WSUS / Intune / Azure Update Manager)
• 3+ years' experience in an ICT support or infrastructure environment.
• Strong 2/3rd line troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience supporting Windows devices and Microsoft environments.
• Good understanding of networking, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs and routers.
• Experience with device management, deployment and IT service management systems.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, security and system monitoring.
• Experience contributing to IT projects, including technical implementation, planning and reporting.
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure and take ownership of issues.
• Self-motivated, collaborative and committed to ongoing learning.

Service Delivery

• Own L2 incident, problem and change tickets in line with SLAs (ServiceNow)
• Produce clear technical documentation: HLD/LLD inputs, build guides, runbooks and handover notes.
• Escalate to and collaborate with L3 and vendor support (Microsoft, Citrix), and mentor L1 colleagues.
• Take part in on-call and out-of-hours maintenance windows where required

What Qualifies You

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in an L2 or implementation engineering role in a managed services or enterprise environment.
• Hands-on Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Strong Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and Windows Server skills.
• Practical Citrix CVAD/DaaS experience, with working knowledge of Citrix ADC/NetScaler (CLI and GUI).
• Good networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/PKI, VPN, firewalls and load balancing.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, clear written and spoken communication, and a customer-first attitude.

Desirable

• Microsoft certifications (preferred): AZ-104, MS-102, MD-102, SC-300, AZ-140, AZ-700.
• Citrix certifications(preferred): CCA-V / CCP-V, CCA-N (ADC).
• ITIL Foundation.
• Experience in a multi-customer MSP environment.
