Summary of Role
As Head of Sales, you will build and lead Solution Community's earned-revenue engine. This is not a donor-fundraising role — you will create sustainable, fee-for-service income for the organization. Your primary mandate is to launch and scale our advisory offering, which connects businesses and nonprofits with our vetted network of expert volunteers, and to develop paid partnerships that fund our mission. You will own the strategy, build the pipeline, close the first deals yourself, and lead a team of five Senior Sales Managers as the function grows.
What Will You Do?
Own and execute Solution Community's earned-revenue strategy — advisory/consulting engagements, paid B2B partnerships, and sponsorship packages that deliver real value to the buyer.
Stand up our consulting network from zero: define the offer, pricing, and revenue-share model that pays the expert volunteer and funds the organization.
Build a repeatable outbound sales motion — cold outreach, discovery, proposal, and close — using lean, low-cost tools.
Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of five Senior Sales Managers; set targets, run the pipeline, and hold the team to measurable revenue outcomes.
Build and manage relationships with businesses, nonprofits, and partners who buy or fund our services.
Track pipeline, conversion, and booked revenue; report results and forecasts to leadership.
Partner with Legal and Finance to keep earned-revenue activity compliant with our nonprofit status.
Who Are We Looking For?
8–10+ years in sales, business development, or partnerships, with a proven record of closing revenue and hitting targets.
Experience building a sales function or offering from scratch — not just running an existing playbook.
Strong at outbound: comfortable owning cold pipeline, not waiting on inbound or warm networks.
Skilled at leading and coaching a distributed team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and deal-closing skills.
Comfortable operating lean — no big tooling budget, high resourcefulness.
