About the Role

As the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for both RTS & Evo brands. You will define how our brands exist to their customers, how customers touch and feel it and how the brands talk to their communities. For Evo we are looking for someone who will own, evolve, and manage its brand and tone both internally and externally. For RTS you will be working both with the RTS brand as a parent company and our other clients. You will have a strong understanding of the creator economy where RTS serves as a respected authority and thought leader.

We are looking for the right person who has been in the thick of building a marketing engine and playbook for an emerging brand whilst also keeping a finger on the pulse of what’s new and what’s fresh. Evolving Evo’s brand means transitioning it from a historic, seasonal tournament into a year-round, global entertainment property. The right candidate will understand how to scale the brand into new international territories and multiple broadcast spaces, ensuring that as the spectacle and audience grows, that the identity remains both fiercely authentic to its roots and welcoming to new fans.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Strategy & Omnichannel Identity

Work with executive leadership, the Evo product team and other internal stakeholders to define, evolve, and execute the overall brand vision for Evo and RTS in alignment with year-round growth goals (set by you) and partner objectives
Establish clear frameworks for Evo’s evolving global brand tone, ensuring every consumer touchpoint from digital content through live event experiences remain authentic to its grassroots, counter-culture roots whilst also enabling the brand to grow to new fans
Build scalable and repeatable marketing engines and playbooks that elevate RTS’s position as a respected authority and thought leader within the gaming, esports, and creator economy landscapes
Define and own marketing goals, including go-to-market strategies, that drive audience growth, fan engagement, content consumption, ticket sales, and the long-term growth of Evo and RTS

Brand & Consumer Marketing

Manage relationships with product and social teams to build strategies that drive growth in key areas such as content engagement, ticket sales and Evo talent
Define the brand’s identity for its next phase of growth
Manage Evo’s Creative Services, overseeing brand approvals across Evo’s growing slate of partners, events, marketing initiatives, websites, and relationships
Build ticket marketing campaigns for our shows in multiple regions and drive growth in attendance, fan engagement, and repeated participation across all of our events
In partnership with our content organization, drive engagement with our content. Evo’s content ranges from tournament livestreams through to original series on the stars of Evo and the wider FGC
Develop audience retention and engagement strategies that deepen the relationship Evo has with its fans year-round through owned channels and community touchpoints
Support Evo’s continued expansion into new markets, helping the brand grow its fanbase globally whilst preserving the identity and community that made Evo what it is today.

Partner Marketing & Ecosystem Integration

Serve as the primary marketing liaison for Evo & RTS’ key fighting game publishing partners (e.g. Capcom, Bandai Namco, Arc System Works, SNK), aligning Evo’s promotional calendar with partner co-marketing strategies and product cycles (e.g. DLC launches)
Partner closely with the Business Development & Brand Partnerships teams to support creation and execution of marketing integrations for RTS & Evo’s partners
Oversee structural marketing frameworks that support, amplify and elevate the grassroots fighting game community (e.g. regional tournament organisers, community leaders etc).

PR

Manage our external PR agencies and develop our PR and communications strategy
Ensure constant fan dialogue through PR
Partner with executive leadership to create B2B speaking opportunities for our leaders to shape industry conversations and strengthen our reputation
Support RTS and Evo through moments of opportunity and challenge, ensuring communications remain clear, authentic, and aligns with the values of each brand

Leadership

Launch and build our marketing organization which will include Social, Brand, PR & Creators functions over time
Add to and nurture RTS’ core inclusive culture and team ethos as a key voice within the company
Establish and manage data, analytics, and reporting processes for internal and external use
Be willing to get your hands dirty across all facets of the marketing organization, we’re looking for a hungry initiative taker who has a builder mindset
Manage our creator vertical, a mature business servicing the business needs of talent in RTS’ talent management organization and Evos creator program, ensuring both continue to grow and evolve in support of their respective objectives
Own the annual marketing budget and make strategic decisions across brand, content, creators, PR, and live events to support the growth of RTS and Evo

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in marketing, brand, consumer growth, entertainment, gaming, esports, or related industries
Experience building and scaling brands through periods of significant growth and change
Experience creating marketing strategies that drive audience growth, engagement, and long-term brand affinity
Experience leading marketing efforts across content, social, PR, creators, community, and live events
Experience building teams, development talent, and creating the systems and playbooks that allow your organization to scale
Experience working closely with cross-functional teams such as creative, product, partnership sales, and executive leadership
A strong understanding of the creator economy and how creators influence culture, community, and audience behavior
Experience working with agencies, external partners, and talent
Strong instincts for brand, storytelling, fan engagement, and community building
Comfortable moving between strategy and execution, from defining long-term vision to rolling up your sleeves when needed
Passion for gaming, esports, entertainment, creator culture, or adjacent industries

Preferred:

Experience growing global brands across multiple markets and regions
Experience marketing major live events, entertainment properties, festivals, or gaming brands
Experience building year-round engagement strategies for brands with passionate communities
Experience transforming brands from seasonal moments into year-round destinations or their audiences
