Overview

Do you love talking to people all day? Do you get a little thrill when the right person says yes? Have you spent 3+ years finding great marketers on LinkedIn, then getting them on the phone?

If so, we'd love to meet you. We're looking for a high-energy marketing recruiter to help us find and hire the marketers who'll grow our agency.

You'll be the first voice most candidates hear from ProperExpression. We want that voice to be warm, sharp, and glad to be there.

The Basics

This role is for a people person first. You'll spend most of your day talking: on calls with candidates, in messages on LinkedIn, and with our hiring team about who's great and why.

It's also a craft role. You'll run 3 or more open roles at once: finding people who aren't applying, writing outreach they want to answer, running screening calls that tell good from great, and keeping every candidate in the loop from first hello to offer.

You're a marketing recruiter, and it's what you do today. We hire paid media strategists, designers, project managers, RevOps specialists, and more, and you already know what great looks like in those roles. You've hired marketers in the US, and you know what they expect.

Our team spans several continents, and most of our clients are US based. We require C1/C2 English fluency and at least 6 hours a day of overlap with US East Coast business hours.

Requirements

The Fundamentals:

High energy. You genuinely love talking to people, and it shows on the 8th call of the day.
Great judgment. You enjoy leading meetings and know when to pause, set boundaries, or take a different approach.
A great listener. You ask the follow-up question, and you notice what people don't say.
Organized. You know where every candidate stands, and nobody goes dark on your watch.
Honest. You tell candidates the truth about the role, even when it's a no.
Driven, self-starting, and always looking to get better.

Direct Experience (The Must-Haves):

3+ years of full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening, scheduling, and offers.
You're a marketing recruiter. Most of your recent hires have been marketers.
You've hired marketers based in the US.
You use LinkedIn Recruiter (Lite, Pro, or Corporate).
You source candidates and run candidate calls yourself, every day.
You've run hiring for 3 or more open roles at once.
You've worked in an applicant tracking system and kept it up to date.
C1/C2 English, written and spoken.

Direct Experience (Preferred but Not Required):

Upwork sourcing. We use it every week, so this puts you ahead.
You've worked at a marketing agency.
AI-curious. Experience with AI tools is a plus. If you're new to them, show us how quickly you learn and adapt.
Breezy HR or ClickUp. These are the tools we run hiring in.

You're Probably a Fit If

You bring fresh ideas, spot ways to make a process better, and love letting the data show you what's working.
You've found a great marketer on LinkedIn that nobody else spotted.
You've told a candidate "this isn't the right fit" and they thanked you for it.

You're Probably Not a Fit If

You'd rather send emails than pick up the phone.
Your recruiting has been mostly posting jobs and waiting.
Marketing is one of many areas you've hired for, or you last hired a marketer years ago.

Responsibilities

Find great people

Source marketers on LinkedIn Recruiter and Upwork, plus job boards and referrals, for 3 or more open roles at a time.
Write and send outreach people want to answer.
Write and refresh our job postings, and post them where the right people will see them.
Build real relationships with strong candidates, and keep a bench warm for the roles we'll open next.

Run a great process

Review applications and move candidates through our pipeline.
Run screening calls, score them against our written bar, and guide tricky conversations with confidence.
Schedule interviews, case studies, and assessments with the hiring team.
Help prepare offers and extend them to candidates.

Keep everyone in the loop

Keep candidates updated, fast, at every stage. Nobody waits in the dark.
Give hiring managers and the team clear updates on where every role stands.
Keep every candidate's card in Breezy and ClickUp current.

Make hiring better

Track the numbers for each role (replies, screens, time to hire, where hires come from) and bring one fix each month.
Stay current on the US marketing talent market and the countries we hire from: pay, where great marketers are, and what they want.
Find ways to make our hiring faster and better, without costing more.
