Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Freelance Legal Content Writers to support ongoing client content needs. This role is ideal for a strong writer with experience developing accurate, engaging, and polished content within the legal industry.
The ideal candidate understands how to translate complex legal topics into clear, informative, and approachable content while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and the appropriate tone for each client.
This is a freelance, project-based opportunity with assignments provided based on business and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and write high-quality legal content across a variety of practice areas.
- Develop articles, blogs, website copy, and other client-facing written content.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear and engaging content for general audiences.
- Follow client-specific brand voice, tone, formatting, and content guidelines.
- Review and edit content for grammar, clarity, accuracy, consistency, and readability.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions from internal team members and clients.
- Meet established project deadlines and communicate proactively regarding assignments.
- Ensure submitted work is original, polished, and ready for review.
- Adapt writing style based on the needs and audience of each client.
- Conduct appropriate research to support accurate and informative legal content.
Qualifications
- Previous professional writing, copywriting, editing, or content development experience required.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience writing within the legal industry.
- Attorneys, former attorneys, retired attorneys, or professionals with substantial legal writing experience are encouraged to apply.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Strong understanding of grammar, structure, tone, and audience.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex legal topics in an accessible manner.
- Ability to follow detailed client guidelines and adapt to different brand voices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently.
- Strong communication and responsiveness.
Writing Samples
Candidates should be prepared to provide relevant writing samples demonstrating their ability to produce professional, high-quality content. Legal writing samples are strongly preferred.
