Employee Benefits: Enrollment Specialist / Technical Assistant

In this role you'll be a key part of our Employee Benefits client management team by handling administration, carrier communications, data management, and other service tasks. Compensation & Benefits for this role include:

• Hourly pay or Salary based on experience

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have:

• At least 1 year of employee benefits experience preferred
• Basic understanding of plans including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability
• Organizational skill and detail-oriented personality
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to use computers and software: prior experience with Applied Epic, Employee Navigator, and EB carrier portals is a BIG plus, but not required.

In this role you’ll be expected to:

• Process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations with insurance carriers
• Troubleshoot benefit administration system and carrier integration issues
• Process COBRA notices and qualifying events with third-party vendors
• Submit, track, and provide status updates on disability claims
• Maintain accurate client and employee information in the system
• Update employee communication and enrollment materials
• Help with carrier service requests and administrative issues
• Update and maintain Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and related documents
• Provide backup to the Client Management team as needed

What is the location and what are the work hours of this role?

• Candidates must be based in Michigan. Hybrid in-office schedules or Fully Remote are possibilities depending on your location.
• Full Time, 40 hours/week
