Role Summary

The Director, Strategy & Insights sits at the intersection of science and commercial strategy within Vi’s Pharma vertical, translating complex scientific, behavioral, and market inputs into sharp, executive-level insights, strategies, and action plans that drive real outcomes for Fortune 500 biopharma clients. This is a senior individual contributor role with ownership of a dedicated book of accounts, built for someone who is as comfortable in the data as they are in the boardroom, moves fast, and holds a genuinely high bar for everything they put their name on. You’ll be the expert voice on every client call and work across Vi’s data, deployment, marketing, and product teams to bring insights to life.

What You’ll Do

• Own a dedicated book of biopharma accounts as the senior strategic partner, serving as the expert voice across every client interaction
• Lead insight development from strategic question through executive-level client delivery, including decks, targeting strategies, and insight frameworks
• Translate complex scientific, behavioral, and market dynamics into clear, differentiated POVs and action plans that directly inform client commercial decisions
• Act as a trusted strategic partner to VP and C-suite stakeholders at Fortune 500 companies
• Operate across therapeutic areas and drug modalities with confidence, including pre-approval contexts such as clinical trial recruitment and disease state education, and post-approval work including precision marketing and HCP segmentation
• Identify growth opportunities across your accounts, bringing forward strategic recommendations and expansion paths before being asked
• Partner across data science, deployment, marketing, product/tech, and account management to embed insights across the client relationship and the Vi platform

What You’ll Bring

Scientific Depth and Commercial Fluency

• Deep scientific literacy across disease states, MOA, and clinical data, with the ability to credibly engage pharma clients on complex scientific and strategic questions
• Strong commercial instincts and a clear understanding of how insights translate into go-to-market decisions, HCP targeting, and patient engagement strategy

Senior Pharma Insights Experience

• 8+ years of relevant experience in pharma across strategy consulting, insights, medical communications, or agency, with a track record of independently leading client-facing engagements
• Hands-on experience with claims and intent data across HCP and patient audiences, plus competitive intelligence across multiple therapeutic areas
• Primary market research experience a plus

Ownership and Startup Mentality

• Demonstrated track record of owning client relationships and work end to end, not just advising on strategy but building, delivering, and iterating on the final product
• Commercial curiosity: spots where a client relationship can grow and acts on it
• Comfortable working across disciplines and with non-pharma partners, including engineers, marketers, and data scientists
• Entrepreneurial and energized by ambiguity; comfortable without a playbook and managing multiple accounts at speed
• Collaborative, low-ego, and genuinely obsessed with client outcomes
