Director of Marketing – Satellite Data & Missions

As we continue to expand our satellite capabilities and global presence, we are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Director of Marketing – Satellite Data & Missions to lead marketing strategy, positioning, and go-to-market activities for this growing business.

This is a strategic yet hands-on role, working closely with commercial, product, and engineering teams to strengthen Hydrosat’s market presence, accelerate customer engagement, and support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Marketing Leadership: Take full ownership of marketing priorities, budgets, and performance metrics, proactively identifying opportunities, setting priorities, and driving initiatives from strategy through execution. Operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while helping build and scale the marketing function.

• Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute the marketing strategy for Hydrosat’s Satellite Data & Missions business, aligned with commercial objectives and growth priorities.

• Go-to-Market Execution: Lead go-to-market planning for satellite data products, mission capabilities, and new market opportunities across commercial, government, and institutional sectors.

• Product Positioning: Translate complex satellite technologies and data capabilities into compelling value propositions, messaging, and customer-focused marketing materials.

• Commercial Enablement: Partner closely with Sales, Business Development, Product, and Engineering to develop sales presentations, proposals, case studies, and other materials supporting customer acquisition and business growth.

• Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive developments to identify opportunities and strengthen Hydrosat’s market positioning.

• Brand & Communications: Drive awareness and visibility through targeted campaigns, thought leadership, industry events, and strategic communications, in collaboration with the broader marketing team.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build trusted relationships with Sales, Business Development, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders. Proactively drive alignment across teams, navigate competing priorities, and ensure marketing initiatives effectively support business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally including product marketing, solutions marketing, or go-to-market strategy.

• Experience marketing complex technical products or solutions, preferably within the space, satellite, Earth observation, geospatial intelligence, aerospace, or defense technology sectors.

• Proven track record of independently leading marketing initiatives and delivering measurable business impact, including customer engagement, pipeline development, sales effectiveness, or market expansion.

• Demonstrated success developing and executing marketing strategies for complex technical products, solutions, or services.

• Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles and experience supporting commercial growth through effective marketing and sales enablement.

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience collaborating with Sales, Business Development, Product, and Engineering teams.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.

• Strategic mindset combined with a proactive, entrepreneurial, and hands-on approach suited to a fast-growing company.

• Experience with government, defense, or institutional space markets, satellite data commercialization, or building marketing capabilities within a scale-up environment would be a strong advantage.
