About this role

Job Description: Creative Strategist

Role summary

YAMU Media is hiring a Creative Strategist to own the creative side of paid media for a pod of 5 to 8 clients. You decide what gets made, write and direct it, and use what the ads do in market to decide what gets made next.

This is a hands-on role. You write the scripts (using AI to draft at volume, then editing by hand), find and brief the talent, give direction on raw footage, and guide the editors and designers. You also read the performance data yourself and set the priority list for new creative, so the work stays tied to results.

What you'll own

Using AI to write scripts at volume

You will use AI to draft far more scripts than one writer could produce by hand, and you will be the editor who decides what is good enough to shoot. AI is the first draft. You are the final say.

Writing modular scripts

Every script you write is built from interchangeable sections, so one shoot can produce many ad variations and we can test one element at a time.

Platform and regulatory compliance

Some of our clients work in regulated industries, such as health and wellness, supplements, financial services, legal services, and credit, housing or employment offers. You are the first line of defense: every script and creative direction you give must be written to pass Meta and Google review and to stay within the rules that apply to the client.

You are not expected to give legal advice. You are expected to spot risk early, follow the client's compliance guidance, and bring in the client's legal or compliance contact when needed.

How the role fits

YAMU Media organizes client work into pods. Each pod is built for 5 to 8 clients and pairs a Traffic Manager with a Creative Strategist, supported by video editors and designers. You are the creative lead of your pod. The Traffic Manager owns media buying and the client relationship; you own what the ads say and show.

You will work every week with the Traffic Manager on what the data says, with editors and designers on production, and with talent on shoots. You report to Account Manager.
