Client Solutions Director / Solution Design Architect

Solution Design Architect (AI / Transformation / Creative Operations)

Language requirement: fluency in German or Spanish

Location: Germany (primarily remote) and regular business travel across EMEA

Employment: 18-month FTC with view to extend

About the role: 

We're hiring a Solution Design Architect to help us win and shape new business. You'll sit in the room with senior client stakeholders, including CMOs, and turn their challenges into operating models, workflows and commercial models (team shapes, asset rates, outcome-based structures) that we can deliver. You'll bring the commercial judgement to validate the numbers, the process thinking to design better ways of working, and the technical and channel knowledge to lead the conversation when specialists aren't there. Quick on your feet and calm under pressure, you'll be supported by our Commercial and Implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business and Client Engagement

• Lead the operational and solution design element of new client pitches, presenting with credibility and confidence to senior client stakeholders, including CMOs and marketing leadership.
• Formulate solutions in real time during pitches, workshops and challenging client discussions, staying composed and commercially sharp.
• Own the conversation on technology and data when technical specialists aren't present, and know when and how to bring them in.
• Ensure a smooth handover from pitch to implementation, so what we sell is what we deliver.

Requirement Gathering and Analysis

• Work with stakeholders to gather, document and analyse business requirements for new client accounts.
• Ask the right questions to define accurate scope, cost and risk.
• Translate client business needs into workflows for client and technology teams.

Operating Model and Solution Design

• Define and articulate operating model principles (roles, governance, ways of working, handoffs) that align to client goals and our delivery capability.
• Evaluate existing client and internal processes, identify new ways of working, and recommend improvements for efficiency, cost reduction and better outcomes.
• Design solutions across advertising and marketing channels, drawing on a strong understanding of how media, data, creative and technology fit together.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure solutions align with our strategy and are technically feasible.

Commercial Modelling

• Build, test and validate commercial models that deliver the designed workflow, including team shapes, asset-based rate models and outcome-based models.
• Work with Commercial and Finance to pressure-test assumptions, margins and risk before models go to clients.
• Balance client value with commercial viability, and explain the reasoning clearly to both internal and client audiences.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the bridge between clients, commercial, technology and delivery teams, ensuring shared understanding and alignment.
• Translate complex technical and commercial concepts into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical, senior audiences.

Data, Measurement and Reporting

• Analyse data to support decision-making, and define measurement frameworks for new clients.
• Create reports and presentations that convey findings and recommendations with clarity and impact.

About You:

Essential

• 10-15 years' experience in solution design, consulting, strategy, operations or a similar role within advertising, marketing, media or marketing technology.
• A confident, articulate communicator with a track record of presenting to and influencing C-suite and senior marketing stakeholders (CMOs or equivalent).
• Commercial acumen, with hands-on experience building and validating pricing or commercial models (e.g. resourcing/team-shape models, rate cards, outcome-based or performance-linked structures).
• A process-driven mindset, able to map, challenge and redesign ways of working and articulate clear operating model principles.
• Strong working knowledge of advertising and marketing channels (e.g. paid media, social, programmatic, search, CRM, creative production) and how they connect to data and technology.
• Enough technical fluency in martech, adtech, data and platforms to hold credible conversations with clients and lead when technical specialists aren't in the room.
• Quick-thinking and resilient, comfortable formulating answers and options in high-pressure or contentious situations while maintaining client confidence.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insight and recommendations.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly for client pitches, mostly across Europe and occasionally further afield.

Desirable

• Experience contributing to new business wins, RFPs and pitch processes.
• Experience in an agency, consultancy or in-house marketing transformation environment.
• Experience with global or multi-market clients and remote, cross-functional teams.

• Contribute directly to new business wins and improve pitch win rates.
• Commercial models that are profitable, credible to clients and deliverable in practice.
• Smooth transitions from pitch to implementation with no gap between what was sold and what is delivered.
• Trusted by clients, commercial and technology teams as the go-to person for solution design.
