About the Role
Location: Remote, India
We're looking for a Business Development Representative to join our Channel Sales team and build the pipeline that powers Plooto's Accountant Channel across the US and Canada. Accounting and bookkeeping firms are one of Plooto's most important growth channels, and you'll be on the front line of identifying and engaging the firms best positioned to bring their clients onto Plooto.
You'll run structured outbound prospecting against accounting and bookkeeping firms, qualify their fit as a potential partner, and book meetings for the Partnerships and Channel Sales team to take from there. This is a pure hunting role: your success is measured by the quality and volume of partner conversations you create.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and research accounting and bookkeeping firms across the US and Canada to build a targeted, qualified list of potential channel partners.
- Execute multi-channel outbound cadences (email, phone, LinkedIn) to engage firm principals and decision-makers, adapting messaging to how accountants actually work.
- Qualify firms against Plooto's partner ICP (client base size, vertical mix, existing tech stack) before booking a meeting.
- Book and hand off qualified discovery meetings to the Partnerships and Channel Sales team, with clean context so nothing gets re-asked.
- Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene in Salesforce, with accurate lead stages, timely disposition logging, and quality outreach notes.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Partnerships to refine channel messaging, talk tracks, and target account lists based on what you're hearing in the field.
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly targets for qualified meetings booked and pipeline generated for the Accountant Channel.
- Share objection patterns and market feedback to help sharpen the team's channel prospecting playbook.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 1-3 years of B2B SaaS or fintech business development, SDR, or BDR experience with a consistent track record of hitting outbound pipeline targets.
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound prospecting; you know how to build a cadence and keep it running.
- Strong discovery and qualification skills; you can quickly assess whether a firm is a real fit before booking a meeting.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM; you keep your outreach pipeline clean and use data to prioritize your list.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; confident on the phone and equally effective in async channels.
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience prospecting into accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services firms, or channel/partner sales experience more broadly.
- Familiarity with the accounting software ecosystem (QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite) and how firms make software decisions for their clients.
- Experience with sales engagement tools such as outreach sequencing platforms or VoIP tools like Aircall.
- Prior experience in a high-growth or fast-changing environment where you've had to adapt quickly as the playbook evolved.
