Our Hazard Communication team works with clients around the world to ensure chemical products are classified, documented and communicated safely and compliantly across different markets.
The opportunity
We are looking for scientifically minded people to join our growing Hazard Communication team in either the UK or Turkey.
We are deliberately keeping the experience level for this role broad.
You might be an early-career regulatory professional who already has some experience of Safety Data Sheets, chemical classification, GHS/CLP, labelling or chemical regulatory affairs and is looking for the next step in your career. Alternatively, you may have a strong scientific background and transferable experience with the aptitude to develop into a Hazard Communication specialist.
You do not need to arrive knowing everything. We have an established technical training and development programme and can tailor your development according to your existing knowledge and experience.
For candidates who already have relevant Hazard Communication experience, the role can offer greater responsibility and independence from the outset.
The important things for us are strong scientific reasoning, attention to detail, curiosity, good judgement and the ability to learn and apply complex regulatory requirements.
You will ideally have:

What you'll be doing
Depending on your existing experience and development needs, your work will include:- Safety Data Sheet and label authoring for chemical products supplied into different global markets.
- Hazard classification of substances and mixtures, applying GHS-based regulatory requirements including EU/GB CLP and requirements in other international jurisdictions.
- Reviewing technical and compositional data and making informed classification and Hazard Communication decisions.
- Supporting Poison Centre Notification (PCN) and related regulatory activities.
- Reviewing SDS and other Hazard Communication documentation for regulatory compliance and quality.
- Researching regulatory requirements and helping the team respond to technical and client questions.
- Working with colleagues on international Hazard Communication projects and managed services.
- Communicating with clients and other Yordas teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality work.
- Contributing to improvements in our technical processes, guidance, systems and tools.
What we're looking for
We are interested in candidates at different stages of their early regulatory careers, so we don't expect everyone to tick every box.You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in a scientific discipline, particularly Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Biomedicine, Natural Sciences or a related subject; or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- An analytical mindset and the ability to interpret scientific and technical information.
- Excellent attention to detail and an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and consistency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage changing priorities and organise your own workload.
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within an international team.
- Curiosity and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge.
- Safety Data Sheet authoring or review
