Who we are

Aselo is an open source, cloud-based contact center for helplines. Our platform gives mission-driven organizations that operate crisis response hotlines the tools to meet people wherever they reach out — voice, SMS, webchat, and social media — without the cost or complexity of commercial call center software. Aselo currently works with 25 organizations across 19 countries supporting issues from mental health to gender-based violence to child abuse, and more. We build the technology that empowers crisis counselors to provide empathetic support, and we keep it affordable for nonprofit budgets.

We also partner closely with Crisis Text Line so that helplines can access a complementary set of solutions through a single relationship.

The Opportunity

The Aselo Partnerships Lead will grow this worldwide impact by bringing more helplines onto the platform. This is a sales role, but the context is nonprofit, and that shapes the work. While growing revenue is essential, the central goal is always real-world impact through partnership and collaboration. Success looks like patient, well-informed relationship building and an honest read on whether Aselo is the right fit. If you like the mix of consultative selling, market analysis, and long-term customer relationships, and you want that work pointed at a social mission, this role will suit you.

What You’ll Do

Aselo is a fast-moving, growing team with a big vision and a critical mission. To serve our mission and vision, each role must be agile and flexible to meet the needs of the business, aligning daily work with business priorities as defined by managers and team leaders.

Outbound Sales and Business Development

• Represent Aselo at conferences: run the booth, give live demos, and form new connections.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across the helpline field, with prospects, partners, and vendors, both in person and virtually.
• Generate leads through email, LinkedIn, referrals, and other channels you develop.
• Find and adopt tools that make this work repeatable — reusable messaging, automation, and AI assistance where it helps — and improve the process rather than only working inside it.

Customer Success

• Hand signed partners to our implementations team cleanly, with the context they need to start well.
• Own ongoing relationships with existing customers: understand their needs and long-term goals, and surface co-fundraising, expansion, and growth opportunities.
• Resolve customer issues that cut across teams, working directly with counterparts in implementations and support, keeping in touch with the evolving technical product.
• Answer customer support questions as part of a rotation and as a backstop when the team needs cover.

Demos and Discovery

• Present Aselo to new prospects while listening for what they actually need, and adapt the conversation as you learn.
• Customize the Aselo demo account to match the customer type — for example, adjusting data forms — so prospects see something recognizable.
• Develop enough technical fluency in Aselo's product to speak credibly to functionality, integrations, and configuration in customer conversations.
• Work cross-functionally with product and technical teams to translate customer use cases and requirements into concrete business workflows for scoping.
• Present Crisis Text Line solutions where they fit the prospect better, drawing on cross-training between the two teams.

Market Analysis

• Build and maintain models of the markets Aselo serves, and keep them current.
• Track industry trends and developments in the helpline technology space, and understand and clearly articulate where Aselo sits in the competitive landscape.
• Evaluate potential new markets in consultation with leadership
• Produce side-by-side comparisons of Aselo and alternative products.
• Translate market trends and prospect conversations into product roadmap suggestions, and discuss them with product colleagues.

Internal Alignment

• Work with Crisis Text Line partnerships staff for mutual support, to identify larger strategic themes, and support RFP responses.
• Define and track sales and customer success metrics, and communicate them to internal stakeholders.
• Provide Aselo’s Executive Director with input on partnership goals and targets, and own delivery against them once agreed.

Quotes and Pricing

• Assemble quotes based on our pricing frameworks.
• Propose changes to those frameworks as you learn what the market will bear.
• Discuss quotes and pricing decisions with leadership.

Communications and Marketing

• Build sales collateral — slide decks, flyers, and guides — tailored to specific market segments.
• Support messaging on the website and social channels, including material that speaks to the needs of particular markets.
• Run webinars and other informational sessions.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

• 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or customer success, with demonstrated ability to manage opportunities from lead generation through discovery, proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
• Strong consultative communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to listen, establish rapport, assess fit, and tailor complex information to different audiences.
• Ability to negotiate respectfully and empathetically with resource-constrained organizations.
• Strong follow-through and organizational skills, including experience using CRM, reporting, or similar tools to manage relationships, pipelines, and performance metrics over time.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build market models, size potential markets, assess opportunities, and compare competing products.
• Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in generating leads and using reusable content and/or automation to improve sales processes.
• Technical aptitude sufficient to become fluent in the Aselo product and quickly learn basic tech tools such as Git commands and customer support tools. Prior experience with these specific tools is not required.
• Ability to create clear presentation materials and working visuals, and to deliver effective demos, webinars, and presentations in person and virtually.
• Comfort working primarily during Eastern Time hours while accommodating customers across a wide range of time zones, with the flexibility to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working cross-culturally.
• Experience selling SaaS or other technology solutions to nonprofit, government, or public sector organizations.
• Experience with helplines, crisis response, mental health, child protection, or another mission-driven service field.
• Experience contributing to or leading RFP responses.
• Experience managing both new business development and ongoing customer relationships, including renewals, expansion, or partnership growth.
• Experience conducting competitive research, market sizing, or product-positioning analysis and translating customer feedback into product recommendations.
• Preferred location within the Eastern Time Zone.
• Proficiency in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, French) is a plus.

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The target salary range for this position, across the United States, is $89,628 - $109,174. Starting salary will vary based on location, qualifications, and prior experience. Candidates will learn the range specific to their location during the interview process. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
