Psychology Specialists of Maine (PSM) is one of Maine’s leading multidisciplinary behavioral health practices, bringing together psychologists, five board-certified psychiatrists, advanced trainees, and an exceptional administrative and leadership team.

We are a provider-focused practice. Since our founding, we have intentionally built the systems, professional community, and administrative infrastructure that allow psychologists to spend their time doing what they were trained to do: provide excellent clinical care.

Our psychologists practice across a broad range of specialties while also having opportunities to connect and grow through our Center for Education and Training, Center for Relationships, Center for Neurodiversity, and APPIC-member postdoctoral residency program.

About the Affiliate Position

Our Telehealth Affiliate position is designed for licensed psychologists who want a smaller, flexible clinical practice without the administrative demands or professional isolation of practicing independently.

Affiliates are independent contractors who provide between 8 and 16 clinical hours per week, entirely via telehealth. You choose a consistent schedule and clinical commitment that works for your life; PSM provides the referrals, systems, and administrative infrastructure surrounding your practice.

This can be an ideal position for psychologists who want to maintain meaningful clinical work alongside another professional role, teaching, consulting, family or personal commitments, semi-retirement, or simply a schedule that leaves room for life outside of work.

What PSM Provides

• A flexible schedule: Maintain a consistent caseload of 8–16 clinical hours per week.
• Fully remote practice: Provide care entirely via telehealth.
• Strong referral demand: We maintain a steady stream of adult clinical and assessment referrals and work to build your caseload around your availability and areas of expertise.
• Exceptional administrative support: Our experienced team manages intake, scheduling, billing, insurance verification, collections, EHR administration, and other practice operations.
• Established systems and technology: Efficient infrastructure for electronic health records, secure telehealth, communication, documentation, and practice management.

• Free continuing education: Through PSM's Center for Education and Training, affiliates have access to PSM-sponsored continuing education, including our clinical seminar and Lunch & Learn programming.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome psychologists who are strong clinicians and value autonomy, collaboration, professional growth, and evidence-based practice. Our psychologists are often strong generalists who also bring particular areas of specialization, clinical interests, or expertise.

Applicants must be licensed as psychologists in Maine or eligible for Maine licensure and able to provide telehealth services to PSM clients.
