Our client is a U.S.-based creative agency specializing in organic social media and video content. They produce short-form and long-form video for a portfolio of brands, working from raw footage, brand guidelines, and creative direction developed in-house. The video team is small, structured, and collaborative: creative direction and final approval stay with the Video Lead and the internal review chain, which means you always know exactly what is expected before you start editing.

📝 Short Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, technically strong Video Editor to edit short- and long-form content for the agency's clients. You will work from raw footage and clear creative direction, turning full-length recordings into scroll-stopping Reels, Shorts, and TikTok-style clips, as well as editing podcast episodes and longer pieces. This is an execution-focused role: you own the craft and the technical quality of the edit, while creative direction comes from the Video Lead. If you are the kind of editor who follows a naming convention exactly, spots a corrupted file before it becomes a problem, and hits every deadline in your queue, you will do well here.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Edit short-form video content (Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok-style clips) from raw footage or full-length recordings, with a strong focus on hooks, pacing, and key moments

• Edit long-form video and podcast episodes as assigned, including trimming, sequencing, and audio cleanup

• Incorporate text overlays, captions, lower-thirds, and basic motion graphics according to each client's brand guidelines

• Repurpose existing footage (podcast episodes, interviews, event footage, and B-roll) into multiple derivative clips

• Perform basic audio editing: noise reduction, level balancing, and audio-to-video sync

• Organize and label project files and exports following the team's file-naming and folder standards (Dropbox)

• Submit every edit for internal review through the Creative Lead and Art Director chain before anything is marked client-ready

• Turn around revision requests from the Video Lead or reviewers within the agreed turnaround time (SLA)

• Track time and tasks daily in Teamwork against the correct client and project

• Flag technical issues promptly (corrupted footage, missing assets, unclear brief) instead of guessing

✅ Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience editing short-form social video (Reels, Shorts, TikTok-style content) as well as longer-form content

• Proficiency in a professional non-linear editing program: Adobe Premiere Pro preferred; CapCut or DaVinci Resolve considered

• Comfortable working with common video codecs and formats, and able to transcode footage as needed

• Working knowledge of captioning and subtitle tools, plus basic motion graphics

• Strong file organization habits and the ability to follow a naming and folder convention exactly

• Ability to manage a queue of edits across multiple clients and deliver on schedule

• Reliable internet connection and communication availability during agreed working hours

• A portfolio or reel demonstrating both short-form and long-form work is required
