Mission of Role/Position Summary:

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Project Management/Client Services:

• Serve as point of contact for key clients, building and nurturing strong relationships.
• Develop client satisfaction processes and track feedback for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understand project/clients' business objectives and challenges to provide strategic insights and solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement client-specific strategies and processes to ensure project success and health.
• Ensure project management compliance through ACDC’s PM Framework
• Review, update, and implement the ACDC PM Framework annually.
• Resolve client issues, concerns, and escalations in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in project management practices.
• Drive the adoption and training of project management tools, methodologies, and technologies. Implement best practices for standard project management.
• Develop and train on lean methodology, standard approaches for process mapping and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with other divisions to streamline cross-functional processes and improve overall organizational effectiveness.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project management division.
• Define project management processes and ensure their effective implementation utilizing Salesforce.
• Monitor project performance and progress, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective actions, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within ACDC.
• Manage and maintain ongoing resource allocation across all company projects in Salesforce.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct regular project reviews and status meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Oversee project manager’s development of comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Manage and assist in the Salesforce reporting for budget tracking, invoice review, and resource allocation as a Salesforce SME.
• Assign project/strategic managers and establish clear roles, responsibilities, and project governance.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans internally and externally as necessary.

Team Development and Performance:

• Recruit, onboard, and develop top talent within the project management team.
• Set performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting professional growth and development.
• Provide guidance and support to project managers, helping them overcome challenges and achieve success.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Identify, implement, and evaluate training programs to enhance the team's project management skills and competencies.

Strategic Planning:

• Lead division SWOT analysis and business plan development.
• Develop and implement division strategic initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on the progress of strategic objectives.
• Develop annual reports, identifying year-over-year trends, for measuring division’s strategic growth and success.
• Identify potential risks and develop internal contingency plans to mitigate them.
• Support the Business Continuity Plan maintenance and committee to plan, train, and exercise continuity processes within the company.

Business Development

• Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations that align with the organization's strategic goals.
• Conduct feasibility studies, perform due diligence, and negotiate agreements to drive growth and expand market reach.
• Incorporate project management principles and practices into proposals, capability statements, and other business development products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• The Senior Director has direct supervisory responsibility as outlined in the company organization chart.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
• Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

• Mobility required on-site with clients.
• Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
• Ability to manipulate up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

• Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
• All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
• If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a closely related and relevant field (years of direct experience may substitute on a year for year basis, in addition to the minimum requirements).
• 8+ years proven experience in leading and managing complex projects and project teams.
• 5+ years proven experience in strategic planning and management, preferably in a senior leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Strong understanding of project financials, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the industry dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Experience/Education Preferred:

• An advanced degree in closely related and relevant is preferred.
• Project management certification (PMP) is highly preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
